Hey people, quit hijacking my thread with nonsense!

You shouldn't be the one doing the pressuring. It should have been your dad forcing you to go to school to get some kind of education. That's really the parents responsibility and, to a certain degree, yours as well.

Get your GED. You'll be glad that you did.

Just a quick question though. What do you want to do with your life?

Good luck....:O

I know it was his responsibility too... but I understand the problems he was going through at the time.

Anyways... as far as what I want to do with my life, I am not sure. Though I do know I hope to be in the field of computers somewhere, whether that be an artistic thing like 3d modeling which i'm practicing right now with serious intent... hoping to unlock my artistic side, or with things like computer programming and computer repair such as being a computer repair technician.

"Sure looks equal to me. What about the "1" at the end, I hear you ask?
Well, I'll write it as soon as I finish writing infinitely many 0s.
Any decimal place you name (say, the four billion three hundred
twenty-eight million two hundred seven thousand four hundred
ninety-fifth) has a 0 in it. A number with a 0 in every decimal place
is certainly 0."

You just proved that 0.9999... does not equal 1. An equation must be equative. I can't believe some people are so narrow-minded on that subject. How can 0.99999... equal 1 when it is not 1. Even though the septillionth decimal is still a 9, the number isn't 1.

The number 0.99999... is a symbol that represents a quantity inferior to one. Thus, it can't be one.

If .999.. was less than one, then you could tell me a number between them.

Just read this. It was a good link.

Unless you have a lot of money or a lot of friends, you're never going to get a university education. If you save up and get a reasonable job, you may be able to attend a community college or get your baccalaureate in your spare time.
As far as education goes, that may in fact be better to go to a CC. Unless you're planning on majoring in a heavy math or science degree the work you'll be doing and learning is essentially the same- same curriculum. And you'll be able to learn better, with much smaller classes and professors that can give you more attention if you need it. University is moreso for the social learning and learning to be on your own.

But like I said any degree not intensive in math, science, Med, or Law you may actually learn better at a community college and you can achieve the same degree that you would at a university.

It clearly falls under the category of real numbers :/
But 'real numbers' arent necessarily real. You cannot have 0.999..% of an apple. Its an imaginary number. You can have 0.999999999999999999999999999% and that doesnt equal 1.

lmao

yes, you can have 0.999...% of an apple, if you don't cut out any of it.

ok, you cant have 0.333...% of one then.

I can't wait till you get to calculus and compare everything to apples and your teacher bitch slaps you.

Prove that you can then, but bear in mind im a very, very poorly educated person.

that wont happen.

k.

Cut the apple into 100 pieces.

take one piece and cut it in three pieces.

take one of those pieces, you're holding 0.333...% of an apple.

no youre not. and i meant 33.333..% those weird drugs i took earlier fried my brain a bit i think.

Cut the apple in 3, take one piece.

Look, an apple is a whole. If you cut an apple randomly, you will have two pieces which are each less than a whole, but more than nothing. Do you agree?

So, by that definition, if there is an amount that is less than a whole, but more than nothing, you can achieve it by cutting the apple somehow.

Okay, if a moderator promises not to frickin lock it before it hits the 3rd page.

if an apple has 100 atoms (example, im not that poorly educated) and you try to cut it into thirds, you will probably have a piece with 30 atoms, one with 44 atoms and one with 26 atoms. but lets pretend we have a best case scenario, 2 pieces with 33 atoms and one with 34. none are, or can be, equal to 33.333...%, because infinity does not actually exist.
pwned.
edit: sorry raziaar, im not just keeping this going to annoy you

What if you had an apple with 99 atoms?
33.333...% of that apple is 33 atoms
*feels retarded argueing math like this*

Umm...

0.999... = 1 is a theorem and can't be argued against. Sorry.

Also, Razziar is the man.

Ah yes, indeed pwned.

How could i not be, i have just been presented with a proof that utilizes, as an example, a theoretical apple with 100 atoms.

What more, cutting into thirds results in three uneven pieces. Perhaps we should all realize the genius of this conjecture and restructure the decimal system so that math mirrors this wonderful "proof", so that 1/3 = x, where x could be anywhere between 0 and 1. How did I not think of it before hand.

Oh, but lets pretend that we have a best case scenario because after all, we all know that a whole divided into three equal parts can have quite unpredictable results. :O

May I point out that if you took an apple with an amount of atoms that is any multiple of three hower, say, 900? you can divide it in three equal parts (thirds): 300, 300, 300, and each piece will equal 33.33...% of the apple.

I'm sorry I have to be the bearer of such bad news, but it appears your theory has been severely annihlated....

Another day. ;(

No, I do get it, "i plead the fifth." I'm telling you, I've shown you proves, don't be close minded about that.

No, I do get it
No, you dont. I was taking the piss. Ill have to remind myself to stop doing that when the only others are yanks with no ability whatsoever to realise when theyre being wound up.

My cock is worse than germans.

WEll it was funny for some time, but i've been makin you walk all this time and now it sgetting old. Even in the last two posts. Hhahaha. pwnd. go home.

Muhahaha. All this for a little question. My work here is done.

Uh, study hard as you can? Get some textbooks and whatnot.

And guys. 0.999999~ = 1. Thats freaking 4th grade math.

Reaktor0 is 12, he won't understand.

Of course it is: you divide 1 by 3, which gives 3.333... times that by 3 and you get 9.999....

Simple math.

hahhaha XD, owned.

Who, you, for being a dumb asshole that you just have to rub random crap like this around to stir shit up?

Now I remember why I don't like you. :|

As long as you put some effort into it, you should be able to get a GED. I dunno too much about it, though :/ Good luck, Raziaar! :D

And don't mind some of these people that are being such dicks. I wouldn't worry too much about getting your GED so long as you know what you're doing with your life, and it seems like you are. I would suggest getting it as soon as you can, but its not that big of a deal.

TheSomeone said:

Um, that's part of it. Reaktor doesn't seem to know what it means, either, but what I think he meant is the part of the amendment that deals with not being required to be a witness of one's self. Which doesn't make any sense, but whatever.

So Reaktor, you should probably stop saying "5th amendment" randomly, because you don't know what the hell you are talking about

I shall be taking the GED test in a few months. If you have any questions just ask.

I pretty much know what the test is like and so on, because my brother already took it a couple months back.
