Honestly, I'm getting sick of these guys.

The company also promises to install any updates for you. Here's a shopping tip: if you need professional assistance to update a single use device, then either that device is badly designed or you need to find something that's more suitable to your tech level. Snark aside, you'll save yourself frustration and money in the long run.

This isn't news, they'll also install a graphics card for upwards of $50. It's like self-service gas, you know? More power to them, haha.

It dosnt say that in the add at all.. Seems pretty reasonable to me. There are a lot of people who just cant do stuff with computers. Your not forced to use their services.

You're.

Also "ad."

I'm just being a pick. This thread is pretty much over though. Don't buy things you don't need.

However - I would like to reap the cash from geek squad activities. Simple things that take a few minutes and generate tons of cash.

I just applied to Geek Squad. ;D

this is almost as bad as hiring politicians to **** up our lives!!

I want to make a company called Nerd Squad and charge 1/3rd the cost. i bet we would make a killing

They're milking ****ing idiots. Let them, more power to them.

Kids these days. You must have never seen an old lady trying to make an iPod work.

But will they turn it off and on again.

I can understand helping people, I can understand telling people to "just ****ing google it", I can condone both of these things, but I can't help but wonder who the hell is willing to exploit idiots to such a massive extent. I can understand why, but it really puts a damper on my faith in humanity as a whole.

Not the point I was driving at, but replace "idiot" with "technologically hampered" and you get my gist.

Well you were quick to call people that aren't good with electronics idiots. You didn't say "technologically hampered".

So the "technologically hampered" that don't know how to set up a Kindle will go to best buy and pay $30 for them to do it. What's the problem?

There are an amazing amount of people who buy the "pc setup" for $70 which basically amounts to typing in account name, picking a time zone, running windows updat, and uninstalling the junk software.

But there are people out there who type www.facebook.com into google search and click on the first result also.

Reminds me of when there was a bogan couple working at my workplace because they were saving for a compewtah; their current compewtah doesn't go fast enough to give them the information they need.

Call-out computer repair services can do similar work for $60 - $120 an hour.
