Geforce 8800 GT First Review --Awesomness

Thanks for the explaination Asus.

however wtf is nvidia thinking? there is no reason to buy a gts or gtx video card when the gt gets better (gts) and almost as good (gtx) performance at half the price ..there's going to be a hell of a lot of $400+ video cards sitting on store shelves for months to come ..why would they intentionally compete with themselves?

the upcoming revision of the GTS 640mb seems needless as it would be sitting between the GT and the GTX at the same price point ..so for substantially less you could get a gt and still compete with the top tier cards

I really cant see Nvidia's marketing team making such a blunder and not catching it. There has to be something up their sleeve.

Also, if I get one of these cards, will it have much of an improvement for my computer, or will the rest of my system bottleneck it?

Athlon 64 3200+
2GB PC3200

I want to be able to play crysis, but I cant afford a complete rebuild of my system until at least after the holiday season.

These are my specs

Code:
M2N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard (2x PCI-E x16)
AMD64 X2 4200+
2GB RAM

Do I need a PCI-E 2.0 motherboard to use a PCI-E 2.0 card?

Not to my knowledge, you can stick a GT in any PCI-E 16 slot and you should be fine.

I'll be the first one to admit I was wrong ..yes let me repeat that, Stern was wrong

My only guess would be that ATI might have something up their sleeve nVidia know about and want to get as many sales in before hand so that people won't change brand, again. :afro:
