geforce fx 5900 Ultra 256mb Golden Sample review

LOL :D
The card broke down... That's hilarious...

The issues experienced were a corrupted XP boot screen followed by no signal to the monitor when in windows with any version of the Detenator’s installed. This issue was across multiple installs and multiple machines.

Hahaha... I find it hilarious that a review site couldnt figure it out....They had the card overclocked through EXPERT TOOL (Gainwards Overclocking software) then uninstalled the drivers, then reinstalled a new set of drivers. Sorry fanboys, Its user error this time.

I ran into the same "problem" with my GFFX. However I dont have to worry about that anymore, as I returned it. :x The card itself was a champ until I ran into a problem with it (Apparently the RAM sinks werent secured enough and the memory was damaged beyond repair. I would see corruption all over in 1942.

LOL, are you trying to defend the 5900? Cause it seems as if you're honesty has tarnished its rep.
"damaged beyond repair.." sounds like an excellent card, my friend. Congrats on your solid DX9 performer.

Im not defending a thing, Im only stating that the "death" of the card was actually user error. I dont really care what anyone says about a peice of hardware but if I know its wrong, Id like to correct that bit of mis-information.

My personal Experience is exactly that, Mine. In the short time I had it I had quite a bit of fun with it. It was a great card in the games I play (1942). Since most of the DX9 games weren't out (and still arent) at the time I had it, I had not seen the card perfom badly. I dont know why you people jump at anyones throat for correcting a bit of information in a review. You'd swear that your the president of ATI itself. Its funny how everyone thinks just because its Pixel Shader Performance is not as good as ATI's that its the equivalent of a Geforce 2. *Gasp* Half the DX9 games they review with arent even out! So tell me NSX, What personal experience do you have with the 5900U?

Just for the record both my Geforce 3 and my FX were Gainward Golden Samples. While the FX was defective (Hey, It happens) the GF3 is still running strong. If your in the market for a Nvidia I definitly suggest getting a Gainward.

No thx....i dont want to spend 500$ on a card that will be obsolete in 3 weeks.....

Wow, You're the first person I have heard say that. Haha! How fresh..Wow I really cant beleive you came out with that. You know, Cause I havent heard that from anyone in the past few months. How orignal. You sir are truly the king of comedy.
See see, You took the FX product line and assumed it would be repeated, haha! Do you do anything besides bash nvidia? Seriously you need to stop. Its just showing how short sighted and immature you are by assuming the next Nvidia card will be a flop.

Agreed.

Uhhh...the card came with the vendor drivers and it wasn't a review sample but mend for end-users.
User error? LOL! The guy just installed the drivers as he was supposed to and that's all.
Even if the drivers magically and automatically overclocked the hardware, the hardware itself would have locked the computer and before that you'd see artifacts everywhere.
Plus, in the review it's stated that the card made some kind of hi-pitches noises so I'd guess it was crippled since the beginning.
Pretty clever to send such a card to a review site, heh?
Driverheaven has surely much more experience in the subject than you think, so I'd really wouldn't call that an user error.

I can't wait until the GeForce DX 6800. I read a preview on it and it's going to rock like hell.

I hope so....the more competition the better.....

Lol, I know, I was kidding about the so called "DX 6800." There's no such thing, I just made it up to see the reaction. Seriously though, I can't wait to see nVidia's next line.

gotta love the constant flaming on the fx series.

Yeah it is great, I think people do it now just for laughs, they don't even care about the hardware anymore.
