well I don't think there's a point to having a general art-forum when there are so many other sites/forums with this exact purpose.

think it should be kept to HL2 media and fan-art.

I'd like a general art forum. Just because other sites are dedicated to this kind of thing, doesn't mean we cant have a section on it. I'm sure theres plenty of sites dedicated to talking about hardware, we still have a section that. There a lot of places to talk about anything you want, we still have the off topic forum.

a hardware forum is a little more required, since it's a gaming forum eventually you will have people wanting advices on getting the game to run well or solve technical problems.

likewise a off topic forum is required, to make the community less rigid and for people to get to know each-other outside of HL2.

but I don't really see a reason why we should have a general art-forum.

EDIT: What objections do you actually have against it? I mean, how will it affect you if its created? Im sure theres quite a few people who would like to post some artwork they have done. Rather than letting it clutter up Off topic, it would be nice to have somewhere to post it.

you're right it would be nice to not have it clutter up the off-topic forum.

I really don't have any objections against such a forum, and actually I wouldn't mind it myself.(but that's purely because art is something I'm interested in. and I could pimp myself etc.) my objection is more of the principal kind. you've gotta set the line somewhere...if we get a general-art forum we might aswell get a "badger"-forum or an "Occult"-forum or even an "Occult Badger"-forum and, though I'm sure certain people wouldn't mind this...I don't really se the relevance for it to be on a HL2-fansite.

although I realise this isn't the official HL2-site...I definitly view this as one of the leading HL2-fan-sites out there. and I'm sure that Munro doesn't mind that his forum/site comes across as proffesional. and honestly a general art-forum might detract from this(or in any case as I said you have to set the line...you might aswell do it here)

the artsie people such as myself can post their HL2 fan-art here, and their other stuff some other places. lets keep the best HL2 fan-site on the internet HL2 related shall we?

HL2 art goes in this forum.

mod concept art etc. goes in the modding/skinning forum.

other art goes somewhere else, not on this site.

Well.. For some newer and young artist's who just begon creating some art and like hl2, its easier and nicer to post into a art forum on this board. Because there are alot of forums that deal with art, but when you newer artist's or Artn00bies as some call them post something there, they hardly see any reply. Here is everything a bit more in a lower and nicer scale so you are more likely to get a reply here then on some big art forum where you hardly get reply's or critique on (Artn00b - unfriendly).

I like a general art forum as much as I would like to post the stuff into the hl2media forum. But Starmonkey said hl2 nonrelated art is not allowed and said to post it in the offtopic forum.
I dont see anything wrong in posting my general art in the hl2 media forum but starmonky apparently does and would see it clutther up the offtopic forum.

I said yes. I would love having a general art forum here where we also could post hl2 ART. the hl2 media forum is for hl2 media. not hl2 art. according to the title. but well.. bleh!

Ive been thinking about this. I mean, we have a general section, which has nothing to do with Hl2 at all. I dont see why there would be a problem with having an art forum in there.

no.. art is no wallpaper. but wallpaper is art. so wallpapers that have nothing to do with hl2 should belong in a General art forum.
