Get a mech warrior for $300.000

Posted twice some time ago, i thought it was rubbish then and i still do (remember Simon!). It walks with wheels under its feet rather than picking them up and stepping forward like a mech is meant to simulate walking. FAIL!

Oh I knew about it but I thought it was a new vid.

That'd be good in a level parking lot, and that's about it. the first speed bump, hill, or parking block it came across would be the end. I could have sworn I've seen better ones than this elsewhere?

That hardly looks like it would be worth $300,000.

I want one with working guns.

Old as my sandwich.

Anyone seen that giant elephant robot? Put some guns on that, THAT is a beautiful machine.

what a bucket of bolts ..looks like I could take it down with a bodycheck

weak as hell, the thing skates along and has no display in the cockpit. Some idiot will probably buy it though.

Looks cheap, moves like crap. Should have used more than two legs.

*cough cough*The Brick.. I mean yeah someone will buy it
:P

No I wouldn't. Even if it's a hundred buck at a local store, I probably wouldn't buy it. It's not as much fun as making one myself :E

I'd buy it for a $100. Use it in paintball or something.

OMG! A slow, unstable car with fake guns attatched D:

They're not really "fake", they're air powered and can shoot harmless projectiles. Did you watch the whole video? What did you expect, a giant chaingun which would cost well over $300,000 for just the gun?

I say it's good for such an early and un-attempted project. And as for its stabilty, it does look quite shakey when it's moving but it's not like you could push it over, did you notice when he was climbing up on it?

rofl $300,000 for something that looks like its gonna fall over every time it takes a step? 4 ewoks and a rope would absolutely destroy that.

you people are idiots. its a first step in the right direction.

imagine what it will look like in like 20 years

A 2 wheeled car.

There have already been gyro balanced hydrolic mechs working, so its a step backwords.

True. This thing is just pathetic. A real walker or mech or whatever you want to call it is possible to build right now with current technology, but it would be a very complicated and of course very expensive machine. 300.000$? More like 10.000.000 $ for a real mech.

Honestly, I replied and then watched the video. My guess wasn't too far off though.
