Get dumped out of CS 1.6 and HL1 in under a minute

I will try this forum as the Steam forum is Useless and Valve has not responded to my problem submissions since the 1st one 4 DAYS ago. Therefore I am Down...
I can join CS 1.6 and HL1 games but get dumped to the server list in under a minute. There are absolutely no error message nor entries in the XP event logs.

I had no problems till 2 weeks ago. I can play CS:S no problem at all. I have plugged my PC straight into the cable modem and had the same issue.

happens to me too...after i play cs for like 4 or 5 minutes..it just closes and sends me back to my desktop or the server list..i cant figure out the damn problem..it never used to happen until like a few weeks ago..

Found out that the problem was with a firmware update to my Linksys BEFRS41 router. Even though I had configured port forwarding, I would get dumped. I updated from a previous version that Steampowered.com specified

I can't get my High Definition Pack to work with my Steam account. I've loaded it twice. Anyone else having this issue? Help.
