GetCharABCWidths() failed for windows font 'Tahoma' (Engine Error!)

I now get this delightful messagebox every time (yes my download is 100% complete, steam monitor is now idle).

I also got the 'popular' anti-aliasing engine error, but the dxdiag fix worked for that.

Anyone else getting this new error? GetCharABCWidths() is a Win32 API call not a Source engine function, bizarre

i get the same thing. I cant find any solution. anyone out there that knows?

same FING thing here. help plzzzzzzz, i have a laptop and it works fine but i cant replace the fonts because the right protection wont come off.

:(

Do u have the font installed?
Usually all comps come with that one..

they had it with old HL1 games...

and Minerel, did you read any of the link i posted... it has NOTHING to do with wether or not the font is installed but with the function GetCharABCWidths()

... its the fing end of the week and a new patch but... NO FIX valve lies so much they might as well just say "it will never be done!"

John Cook stated it was being worked on. Have patience. Flaming Valve isn't going to help.

Not sure if you read JESS CLIFFE's above yours. It's being worked on. In fact, it's being worked on so hard that the Man actually replied to your topic.
