Getting a piercing?

Has anyone gotten any lip or eyebrow piercings? I want to but I don't know how long the recovery time is and (not to be a pussy but I really don't know anyways) how much it'll hurt afterwards... I figure I'll just get really really drunk beforehand, but as for the week or two afterwards I don't know.
 
My girlfriend has her tongue and nose pierced. She claims it didn't hurt much at all.

Forgot who said that, but it just happened to stick out in my mind.
 
Mmhm, that's why she has it. It's just a little ball. You can't actually see it unless she sticks her tongue out.

Tongue piercings to me have always given the impression of 'slut'. That's one piercing that I'm against.

Also, uh, does anyone know the cost on this kind of stuff? I want to get a couple in my ear, one on my left lip, one on my right brow. I have almost no cash, so I was wondering if I should start saving up.

I have an eyebrow spike didn't hurt at all... you can feel it sting a bit like when you get a needle. i had plenny a blood though and the thing that hurts the most is for like the next week you forget its there and you go to pull off a tshirt or something and nearly rip it out... thats the painfull bit.
 
Don't you have to keep turning it too, or something?

To stop the blood drying up and it scabbing over?

Just saying because one of my friends forgot to for a while and when they remembered it apparently hurt like a mo'fugga.

I've got a lip piercing, which a mate of mine did for me. The actual act of piercing hardly hurts at all, it's mostly psychological. You sit there thinking "OH SWEET JESUS I'M GOING TO DIE!", and that kinda amplifies the pain. But if you just take it easy, it's not going to hurt at all :)

the healing time varies a lot from person to person, so I can't really answer that. But if you usualy heal very fast when it comes to other things, like cuts etc, then it's safe to assume that your piercing will heal fast too.
A few months at least, is safe to assume.
(and it really doesn't hurt that much during the heling period, just try to clean it reguraly and don't smoke to much)
 
Keep ya hair out of it and make sure you spray it with the stuff they should give you... otherwise it will get infected and that will hurt too and look gross. Mine started too but i managed to stop it...

You must tell her that the superficial sensational tissues may be over-stimulated and become sluggish and anaesthetic. She must be examinated by lingual contact simulation so as to check her sexual tactile sense can be normal activated. IF you cannot, I am a professional doctor and I am glad to oblige.
 
But how are the superficial tissues get overloaded? Won't the endorphin loaded part of your brain stop that? As with your pituary? Along with disestamenamines? (sp?)

Endorphin is generated when there is pain or other unwanted irritation. My guess is dopamine generated by sexual activity will not stimulate the secretion of Endorphin. I still insist that the over-secretion of dopamine in pituitary caused by clit piercing will directly lead to acclimation of nervo-receptors and effectuate the desensitization of superifical contact.

I'm not a fan of tit/clit piercings, they're amusing for a little while, then rather pointless. I mind nipple piercings less though.

I am not very much a doctor, tho.

I am NOT joking. The sensation problem is really not the primary concern. Clit piercing can cause permanent nerve damage and serious infection. You really should tell that girl not to do so.
