Infection can happen in anytime, even a few years after the pierce. Have you check out the side of her clit see whether she is suit for piercing? Or she can simply replace clit piercing by clit HOOD piercing. The best way is still to avoid piercing.

I have both an eyebrow piercing and a Prince Albert. The eyebrow piercing was more awkward to look after; lots of cleaning and stuff. Also, stretching the eyebrow piercing hurt like hell.

Most people who say that they have a clit piercing, just have a clit hood piercing. I'm not sure but I think in the UK you can't get actual clit piercings anymore, just clit hoods. Anyway, the infection rate for genital piercings are lower than other piercings, because they're self cleaning.

As for clit piercing, the potential problem is that urine and menstrual matter may contaminate the the clit and cause inflammation. But if people don't replace your clit frenulum, too frequently, inflammation is unlikely to happen since the skin tissue around the clit will regrow and bind to the frenulum. The chacne of foreign matter entering the clit hole will be lowered. Moreover, regular clean is needed.
