Hi!

I hope everyone's ready for a bit of confusion!

My Fianace (Z) is trying to get his friend to connect to Garry's Mod on his computer.

Z is connected to my Linksys Wireless router through a hardline (ethernet). When he goes to Dedicated Server, the IP that shows is his internal IP.

Z's friend is on a College network, so I don't know if that would cause a problem.

I haven't messed around with the router settings, so I figure I must have to do port forwarding, but I'm not sure what it is, or what I have to do.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks!!!

Steph

Damn that is confusing O_o

Z --(Ethernet)--> Your Wireless Network

Lol, isn't so confusing after all :D
College network
Actually, that may cause problems as colleges tend to close some ports in fear of being hacked. And of course Steam and HL2 uses some of those ports :/

Well, it should be fine, because Z is not on the college network, and Z is hosting the server, so it should be fine, just do the port forwarding..

Usually go to 192.168.0.1 type in your username, and pass, which is probly at defualt since you said you dont know what your doing, which should be in the manual.
Then go to portforwarding, and find out Z's interal Ip. Put that as the the ip, because you want her computer to be able to accessed online, then open the port 27015.
