Getting rid of anger

emotion is key. emotion is what makes drives humans to keep going. not to give up. sure emotion causes us to do some pretty retarded things, but at the same time it's what makes us advance. i'd hate it if the worlds best minds used the "**** it" philosophy when they couldn't get an equation working, or if doctors said "**** it" when they couldn't solve a medical issue or couldn't come up with an antidote for something.

people who have that sort of mentality are the weak ones.

If you get angry at everything emotions got the best of you. Emotion's great but most of the time it just gets the best of people, you got to learn how to control things.
Just because someone doesn't get ****ING angry at something/someone for something doesn't mean they don't feel emotion.

Getting angry usually doesn't help you, same with being sad or anything like that, sometime in life most people learn that it's better just to move on, do what you want and forget that this one person stole money from you, or that driver cut you off. I mean, if you can do something about it that harm anyone but teach that person a lesson, great.

If someone every stole something that was mine I'd work to get it back, and if I found out who did it, I'd probably just steal it back and maybe teach him not to steal stuff.
I don't have to get angry about it to do something about it.

If you're angry you better find a way to somehow let it out, don't bottle it inside. And monks are rare to come by, so...
Penn & Teller did a nice episode on anger management, and they found the best way is to just do something to take your mind off of it.
They found if you let out your anger you generally just became more angry. You'd feel better, but still angry I guess? I can't find a clip off of YouTube, but it'd be a good episode to watch.

These philosophies remind me of life coaching. I know someone who's into that. It's just a way to be a dumbass and feel good about it.

Yell really loud and hit the lawn with a bat again and again

exercise does really help, especially wieght lifting. and you might even grow some muscle.

but it doesn't help all the time. A year ago I got a new neighbour who kept making noise all through the night. I made a complaint, and she said it was her kitten. huh. Funny how that cat could make noises that sound like hammering, lifting dumbbells and dropping them on the floor, plus moving around huge pieces of furniture or something. Just plain horrible noises, impossible to get any sleep. Have you ever lived for a year on 2-4 hours of sleep a night? If you havent, you dont want to find out. I even lost most of my hair due to stress and lack of sleep.

She hasnt moved out, but she did stop some of the noisemaking. Now she only starts banging around 1 am, stops after I've been waken up and pissed off because of it and can't get sleep anymore, then starts again around 4-6 am in the morning, and stops by the time I have to get up anyway.

How do I deal with it? Last year I yelled, incredibly loud and incredibly much and often. I called her by all imaginable names, swear words, I wished she would get cancer and any type of illness, I threatened to beat her up, to kill her, rape her with a knife, just about anything you can think of when you're raving mad. I got some weird pleasure out of it, as I know that she can hear me. I can almost tell what she's saying to her friends when they're visiting her. thin walls.

Yelling helps with the anger to some extent, but it's not good to have adrenaline pumping through your veins when all you want is sleep in peace!

Just the other day I completely freaked out after I'd gotten up after another bad night. I shouted as loud as possible and banged the wall with an empty soda bottle. My ears hurt, it's a really effective tool for making noise... but can you believe it, she hasnt made any noise in two nights a row!!! too bad I haven't been able to sleep much because i've been reading for tests all night... but still! It looks like my yelling got to her, finally.

So yeah I guess it depends on the source of your anger. If it's just stress, exercise helps, but it has to be really hard exercise, so in the end your legs are trembling and you can barely stand up in the shower. And repeat so many days a week that you can't recover from the exercise very well, so you're always tired and lack energy. No energy left for anger. :p

Lol Raiaar, are you referring to that WoW guild?

Guns and anger sounds like a really REALLY bad combination

LOL some people here would make the best psychiatrists ever.

"I am thinking about killing myself. I just don't know what to do"

"Don't think about it. I don't."

"What?"

"That'll be $100"

You can't get rid of anger. It will haunt you and follow you until the day you die. The best way to avoid it is finding someone to love

<insert cheesy song here>

Medication?.

With a thorough understanding of neural science I could probably make you think you were Paris Hilton with the right concoction of chemicals.

also, get a punching bag and some gloves.

Strike it until you collapse. daily or as needed.

You will feel better.

Works for me. I've always had serious problems with aggression and anger control until I did the two things I just mentioned.

Ah yes, Thanks Virus. I'll see if i can get one for Christmas. =D

Yeah, I got one of those full size punching bags from Everlast that doesn't hang. Instead it has a large base you fill with water or sand. Totally cool for $90 at wal mart or slightly more at Sears.

The bag gloves came in a kit with wrist wraps (use them or break your wrists like me.. oops) Also comes with a jump rope and Boxing Instruction DVD (got at wal mart last year)

If you don't use gloves the flesh will be removed from your knuckles at a high rate of speed.

Where I used to live, I just laid an old king or queen size matress and box spring against the cinderblock wall in my basement. It's awesome as shit. you can punch it as hard as you want, and the springs will slow your punches to a stop without injuring you. It just leaves a slight mark on the bricks after months of abuse, but nothing really. Don't use against drywall!

I usually take 2 of those a day, 1 vitamin, and 2x vitamin E. The Omega 3 is supposed to be great for you skin, brain, heart, and a ton of other things (didn't know about the anger, but I don't have problems with that). Vitamin E is supposed to be great for your skin and eyes too.

I have been taking a B100. (something like B1 all the way through B12 vitamins 100 milligram each )

I'm not sure why I'm taking B vitamins.. I saw it as an ingredient in those detox bottles... I wanted to detox or something.

I just heard they give you energy. I probably should take them in the morning instead of before bed then. Otherwise I'll be doing barrel rolls in my sleep.

Eating properly, regular exercise, and sleeping 8 hours a night.
