Getting whupped..

Was on the b33f hl2net server earlier and got killed 3 times in a row without even getting off a shot!

Haven't played CS in about 2 years so I guess those guys are a bit too '1337' for me...

Any beginners servers where I can get back into the swing of things?

I don't know of any beginner servers sorry. my advice is keep practising u'll get better.

Just keep practicing, well, you should know that. Maybe go pick another random server and hope that there are less-skilled players there... but with practice it will quickly become better .

Know what you mean but I was terrible, like a headless chicken.

Gonna go find another server and see how that goes.

Stick with one weapon as long as you can, and learn it. Get comfortable with it, know how it recoils, and how fast you can shoot before losing too much accuracy. Good weapons to start with are always the MP5, M4A1, and AK-47. The MP5 has great accuracy even at a high rate of fire. The M4A1 has, in my opinion, the best accuracy/power ratio in the game. Finally, the AK is amazingly accurate for the first shot and packs a serious punch. Just learn to control the AK with short bursts.

Keep at it man. It took me a while to get used to the feel of the weapons and what worked best in certain situations. It takes time, and there is always going to be someone out there who has more time than you to practice.
