anybody know what this card is like , as im building a new pc in 3 months but just not sure witch card to get

anyways this is the card iv been looking at

Asus V9999 GeForce6800 Ultra 256MB
iv seen it for £386.58 inc.vat

and thats about my budget

In PC Gamer they gave that card a 50%. Costs too much for performance or something... or mabey it was the V9999 6800 vanilla. Whatever.

6800GT isnt the top but it gives very very good performance...look for one called eVGA 6800GT or eVGA 6800 Ultra if you want the very top of the line for geforces

XFX are a good card for o/c m8 so that is good choice, i have an XFX 5900 XT 128mb which is a real good card.

You should get 1 for about £150 max shop around but maybe a little less now as the new gfx6 is out.

i will be playing hl-2 on this pc till i build the pc with the 256MB XFX GeForce 6800 ULTRA DDR 3 Tv/DVI card , iv only got 3 months till now and then i can start building it

this pc as got 768MB ram ddr 400 ,amd 2400+ ,and a GeForce FX 5700 le 256MB card

:sniper: I have decided to get a PNY VERTO GEFORCE 6800 GT 256 mb :naughty: + new 450 watt psu to power the beast up muhahahaha and a stick a new ram for the hell of it lol all this coming tommorow morning :cheese: oo also 2 8cm case fans neon blue and a PCI Slot Extractor Cooler Fan :thumbs: cant wait :bounce:

I thought there were 512mb cards coming out this christmas? If that is so, you'd probably want to get one of those since you have a big budget..

No 512MB cards that I know of. I know they said there would be in the future but nothing on the radar. 512MB video cards starts pushing the limit of virtual memory on 32Bit systems (4GB).

Asus i see that u have a 6800 GT 256 mb how do u rate it ?

It has great overall performance although I wish I would have waited for the 450$ X800XT.

The 6800GT dips in some of the games I play like CSS and Battlefield games so I have to lower resolutions if I want to keep AA/AF enabled to the same extent.
Overall a 4/5 considering performance, stability, features, drivers, and value.
