comp specs: 2.2GHZ intel 4, 1024 pc3200 @400mhz DDR. Radeon 9800 pro 128mb (default clock settings and latest driver)

My HL2 and CS:S sometimes go down to 20 fps, and I thought it would be alot better than that, especially when HL2 was designed especially for 9800. Can someone tell me how to fix this problem, or wether this is normal.

you could start with updating your drivers to cataclyst 4.11, because they have been optimised for hl2 now, expect a framerate boost by 10 frames/sec

reinstall ur computer ?, defrag ur hardrive, lower your resolution, lower gfx setting, the possibilites are endless
