so i was watching this 5 minute segment on much music on Ghettopoly.. -yup u guessed it, the ghetto version of Monopoly..

some pple were offended by it.. while others found it a good way of educating themselves on a lifestyle that they don't know very much about..

others simply found it funny.. and a "cool" game..

some of the game pieces are: "a hoe" "40 oz" "machine gun" and get this.. a "Marijuana Leaf" hehe

so heres a url, check it out.. and post ur comments.. offended? or do u think this is a chance for the pple to learn something about others and how tough life can be in "da hood" ? perhaps its all just good fun?

its sad that im not joking. people take their ethnicities way too seriously, when in fact i dont give a rats ass about them, especially their skin color.

hmm.. and theres no possible way for this just to be a game to enjoy? i mean theres other versions of monopoly we see.. McDonalds' anyone?

hell even good ol' Billy can come out with his own MS version of monopoly..

i do because it would probably be hilarious. honestly, i've never been as dissapointed in the hl2.net community as i was when i read the majority of the responses to ghettofabs hilarious ghetto-mod suggestion (another thread). anyone who didn't understand the humor of it is not only really unimaginative, they also need to grow up. i don't mind that you closed that thread, not b/c he was being immature in anyway, but b/c so many ppl where flaming him like 5 yr olds.

the funniest part is that ghettofab is probably significantly more intelligent and certainly more clever than the vast majority of the members that where attacking him. questioning his age? blackness? ghetto credentials? are you ****ing kidding me? GOD, some of you ppl are just so ****ing depressing.. grow the **** up.

yes, that's commentary on this thread and another. ghettofab, i'd suggest you don't call these ppl woadies anymore, they most certainly are not.

The thread did begin to get nasty which was why I closed it.

If he had come up with that mod idea in a more mature way and gone into detail better with it he may have been taken seriously and got it moved to General Editing. As it was, he didn't, it was written in a lame way and was obviously going to cause trouble down the line. I left it open for a few hours so people could have fun, but lets face it, it was always going to get locked eventually

after reading ghettofab's thread... my impression of this place is.. u can't come from the ghetto and talk like u would from the ghetto because all u would get is "omg look at that fak3r!1!!!11"

seriously.. how does anyone here know where hes from? what if he really is from the ghetto? so what if he wrote that thread in a way that did not impress u? maybe some pple need a reminder that he and any other poster is not here to impress any one individual...

and if u wanna tie the whole ghettofab thing into this thread.. its no wonder why some pple feel offended, or think this Ghettopoly idea won't work because we as a society haven't got passed the skin color issues..

Thats just the problem. Some people here have a sense of humour, not all. Someone makes a funny thread, but then a load of people jump on it saying its spam or something else, purly because they don't like it. Thats part of the reason we have the rules, to stop threads which, although not bad in themselves, will in fact turn...rather sour.


I thought this gettopoly thing was quite funny to be honest. Offensive? Can't really think how it would be. Ont he toher hand, i doubt i would learn much from the game. Its like Manchester Monopoly (In England), I wouldnt say you could learn anything about Manchester, other than a few place names, but its different and fun to play.
