Ghostbusters PC has no multiplayer

I don't see the logic in this at all aside from ****ing lazy ass game devs.

Atari sucks and it's a shame because Dan Aykroyd has put a lot of time into the story and design, it's awesome in that respect.

Should of expected it when you think of TDUs shoddy multiplayer!! *shakes fist at Atari*

Going to get it for the PC anyway, as I'm sure singleplayer will be quality.

First they make a non working version of Multiplayer for Dartk Athena and never fix it, then they just admit defeat and strip it completely out of their next game. That's brilliant Atari.

Still need a net connection for the DRM though, which had they learned from Riddick's crap sales across the board that it doesn't increase sales they could have spend that money and time actually giving the PC owners a real reason to buy it.

I swore never to buy another game from Atari, and I'm going to stick to it.

Perhaps with time Atari may finally learn that online activation does not help prevent piracy and actually harms legit customers. EA took a long time figuring it out but finally drop it for the Sims 3. If Atari were too lazy to even implement online support for the Pc version i dread to think what the rest of the port will be like. I'm going to hold off and see how the rest of it works out.

Atari should not be publishing PC games at all. They have done nothing but tarnish their reputation with their PC releases.

Piracy for this game just jumped another 40% here. GG Atari.

Is this a deal breaker? If the singleplayer campaign is still good...

3 months from now on a gaming news site:

"Atari is reporting poor sales of the PC version of Ghostbusters, citing 'OMFG PIRACY SHIT SHIT STEALING!!! JESUS CHRIST!!!!' as the main cause of lost sales. An Atari spokesperson told us that the company will no longer publish PC titles, then proceeded to drool all over himself while staring blankly at the interviewer"

Regardless the PC version will net them huge sums of monies. Not that I care Atari can go **** themselves.

It didn't for Riddick, which was boycotted heavily for it's DRM and sold a measly amount after quite a bit of hype. I doubt the PC version will do at all well for them seeing as how they still have this DRM and have completely pulled the multiplayer.

A high increase in piracy figures for this game is the only big number I see associated with it.

Developer: Terminal Reality

It's going to be a terrible game.

My copy should be here soon for 360. :) They built the game around consoles to begin with, then decided to be "nice" and do a PC port.

Same as pretty much any game available now then. Still, doesn't stop other devs doing decent port jobs does it? Look at Capcoms recent ports for examples (and I don't mean Resident Evil 4).

Is it just me or is that stating that none of the dual core processors are supported, or is it just a certain selection? Then again, Atari stating that they give any kind of support for a PC game is laughable anyway.

Ah, just kidding. I knew about this the other day and I don't care. I just wanted to test out my new reaction face.

Sedako are you getting it for PS3? I might see you online.

Haven't decided yet. I'm in budget mode right now as my school loans are beginning to enter repayment :/. However, I DO own Gunstar Heroes on PSN if you're up for it.

Just got done watching the third Ghostbusters movie. My friends and I began playing at 5pm (PST), finished at 1:30am, so it's a solid eight hour game, although you can spend a lot more time on it with all the little things to see and collect.

I am absolutely floored by this game. It is by far the best film-to-game adaptation there has ever been, but also in a time when we're seeing a glut of franchise remakes and sequels this one truly lives up to its predecessors.

It is really the ultimate experience of being a ghostbuster; you get that sensation through the gameplay, most notably when you're wrangling ghosts rather than just zapping at them, having to actually corral them into the ghost trap as they struggle against you. Using the PKE meter to scan and being able to actually catalogue apparitions for Tobin's Spirit Guide.

And there's all these little touches too like the references to the old films, the answering machine at the firehouse, the chatty poster of Vigo. The first time HQ loaded up my friend said, "Hey, you gotta try out this pole!" and upon sliding down it, there was actually an achievement called "Hey, you gotta try out this pole!" Little things like that really add to the nostalgia factor.

I could really go on about this game for awhile. Wonderful game. I haven't tried the multiplayer component for consoles yet (probably will later today), but the game's singleplayer content is so perfect as is that having no multiplayer would not make the game feel as though it were lacking anything. In fact I'm a bit skeptical as to how multiplayer will stand up--hopefully it won't feel tacked on. But again, based on the singleplayer alone the game is a flawless adaptation.

Well that's certainly a glowing review, consider my interest piqued. I'll at the very least rent this at some point.

You just sold me Darkie. I've been looking forward to playing this since the first preview I saw almost 2 years ago in Game Informer, now I can't wait to play it.

Edit: Did they include a mechanic or consequence in the game for crossing streams? :3

I have heard that it blows the characters to the floor, but I've not seen any consequence in single player other than the characters yelling at me. Alot.

Also, for anyone having uncontrollable stuttering in the game, add this to the target line of the games shortcut before the exe path:- %comspec% /c start "" /low

Some HD videos I made from the game:-

Sweet videos!

Damn! Now I have to watch the movies all over again. It's been years....

The game looks fun. Bottom line, regardless of Atari, Is the PC version fun? How long is it if you collect everything & do everything?

It is fun, provided you can getting running decently. I had to disable PhysX in the Nvidia CP, as well as limited the maximum pre-rendered frames to 1. Also, the latest Nvidia drivers gave me an extra couple of FPS. I also run the "AMD Fusion for gaming" app when I play it, not sure if it makes a difference but it can't do any harm. I also run it in low priority as this has been proven to stop bad stuttering on some systems (not that I had any, but again, can't hurt to do it). Mouse control can also be a little erratic at times, but I still finished it without switching to my 360 pad.

Apart from those issues, game is amazingly fun. It trails at the end couple of levels I felt, but everything before it is good fun, especially the voice work and dialogue and I still have never had a gaming experience like trying to pull a ghost into a trap, on mouse and keyboard it really feels like it should.
The game lasted around 10 hours for me I think, and I only collected what I ran into, that is I didn't go out of my way to find them. So i suppose if you did that it would be longer.
Plus the PC version is half the price of the console versions.

The only thing I would say if you buy it, get it over steam which has no DRM or use the fixed .exe to avoid using your activations, as Atari make you backflip somersault through hoops to get more.

Yeah it will blow you down, had it happen lots in MP. Great fun. :)
