ghostbusters trailer

The top trailer is cutscene material from the actual ghostbusters game, the lower trailer is the old prototype for an open world ghostbusters game that hit copyright problems and thus became somthing else.

As fond as I am of ghostbusters, and hope the game is great, these nostalgia franchises usually end up being fairly bland, though there is talk of multiplayer which may surprise.

I think my idea of a perfect ghostbusters game would be a GTA style city, with random calls that you answer and respond to, with all the driving and combat stuff in between, dont see that ever happening in reality though.
 
I hate OTT voiceovers like that.

Looks somewhat promising, mainly due to the original cast and writers taking part.
 
What I see in the trailer seems to capture the funny, light hearted mood of the original movie. Ghostbusters has never been gritty or dark. It was intended as a supernatural comedy. By the way: the ghostbusters' models are stunning!
 
That actually looks hilariously awesome....let's hope it stays like that.
 
I believe there was a bid to develop this game, that trailer shown above with the gears of war look was a bid i believe, they lost the bid and showed their stuff and gave people an idea of a game in the works, but not done by them.

To me, this is just like the Ninja Turtles BS.

Yeah it's cool, and we like it (GB was my second favorite movie as a child), but then it gained a **** ton of popularity by the average teen today ("LOL, I AM A NINJA TURTLE! LOL!!") which = make profit through movies/merch/game/etc


So like for TMNT they made that shittastic CGI movie, and now for Ghostbusters it's probably going to be this videogame.

Looks like its got the humor down. Gameplay will be interesting to see, but I think the humor is what will make or break the game. Im optimistic.
 
Goosebumps when the main theme starts and the guys do the ghostbusters dance. This trailer is really well made. We'll see the rest of the game.
 
Well I hope you enjoy your aloof elitism while we all enjoy a game written by Aykroyd and Ramis - clearly not 'real' ghostbusters material, right?

You know what this reminds me of? Luigi's Mansion, and man, that was a ****ing game. Loved playing that during the Gamecube release month. I hope this is kind of like that, but I think for it's writing and humour alone I'm gonna enjoy this.

lol, it's nice that you try and pull one example of you being right about a video game against a (non-overwhelming) majority opinion even when it's a completely different circumstance and your reasons for doubting it are entirely different.
How does Spore equate to cheaply cashing in on a franchise such as you blasted Ghostbusters for a few posts ago?

Well it was one example with a specific reason, it doesn't mean there are not more reasons.

If I could compare it to spore I'd compare it in the same sense of how everyone was like "Omg! That looks funni! Gunna be da best game ever!"

And besides the fact that the gameplay did not play through well, as I stated many times before, a large number of people ended up being annoyed with how unfunny, lame, and childish the humor in spore was.

As much as I've always loved GB, this game will most likely not be good, don't kid yourself guys. And if it doesn't our right fail, it will be one of those things that you rent and enjoy playing one Saturday night and then never think of the thing again.

And please, just because Dan Aykroyd was a writer for GB doesn't mean it's going to be good. Lets not forget he also wrote Blues Brothers 2000.

This is like the black mesa source thread all over again, with you thinking people are saying things that they are not and then arguing over it. There has been one person in this thread who has made a comment that could possibly be viewed as a "Omg! That looks funni! Gunna be da best game ever!" kind of comment.

Nobody else has said that. Every other comment has been either a cautiously optimistic comment, or a post saying that the trailer was funny. Stop making up things to argue about.

And I am saying it's NOT funny, and I am ELABORATING on why it is NOT funny and why it will NOT be good and why I DISAGREE with the optimistic opinions stated. It's simply a contrast of two opinions, and you are getting all sissy frissy because I have elaborated on my reasoning and you happen to be on the more optimistic view.
