Because anyone who finds the Disney Channel, or god forbid, that awful TMNT movie that came out a few years ago to have any sort of "quality" other than a money sucking exploitative parasite geared towards mindless drones who-will-watch-or-buy-anything, must be 13 years or younger.

I'm afraid to even go here, because I may find that you do indeed like this judging from your "taste"(I suppose even shit has a flavor)... but did you think The CGI Clone Wars film was a good contribution to Star Wars as well?

The Disney Afternoon began at the end of the 80s, kid. 1995? No, 1995 was close to the end of the ABC syndication of Disney cartoons. You clearly have zero idea of what you're talking about and you're simply spouting off at the mouth like you know something about the Disney Channel. I'm sure the only experience you've had with the Disney Channel has been The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and High School Musical.

"Back in the day" the Disney Channel was actually an awesome bastion of cartoon goodness. Disney Afternoon, however, WAS NEVER ON THE DISNEY CHANNEL. EVER. Thank you for opening your mouth and calling me "young" when clearly YOU have no idea what you're talking about.

Don't try to outdo me on cartoons kid, I'd make the Nostalgia Critic's head explode with 0.2% of my knowledge.

Furthermore, regarding the TMNT movie, listen here: if you ever--EVER--even TRY to talk shit about the Raph/Leo fight, you're heading in for a world of hurt. A WORLD of hurt. The entire cosmology of the universe will rend upon itself and birth a planet of unending, nightmarish torments that you will suffer through until the end of your days. The skin will be flayed from your bones and hot needles will be inserted in the marrow for talking shit about the Raphael and Leonardo fight.

TMNT was developed by Laird himself you simp. Are you going to seriously fucking say that the CREATOR of the Ninja Turtles doesn't know how to make a movie about his OWN characters? A movie that departed from previous canon to be more accurate to the comics and the characters themselves? Are you REALLY going to say that he was pandering when the entire goal of this movie was to appeal to the original, mature audience of the comics? Really? Dude I bet you don't know TMNT from the 80s cartoon. Could you even identify them if all their bandanas weren't color-coded? Shut your pie hole.

That fight was too sick. Too goddamned sick, oh my God. "I'm done taking orders." HOLEE SHIT. You clearly have absolutely no taste and should not comment on anything Turtles-related, seriously. My friends and I, when that movie was released we went to the theater wearing bandanas and we were doing backflips and aerials in the theater lobby. If you would've said the shit you're saying right now to us you would've gotten shell-shocked, son.

And as for the Clone Wars...I didn't care for it. The show on CN, though, is pretty ballsy. Well, the best parts are with the clones themselves, which were also the best parts of the movie, so there you go. It's no Tartakovsky, but it's pretty good for what it is.

And back on topic of Ghostbusters, you're reaaaaally lucky you're talking to me and not my die-hard, holy-shit-this-guy-probably-seriously-busts-ghosts best friend. He'd probably arrest you for trying to talk shit about Ghostbusters. He'd haul you in, I'm not joking.

Dan Akroyd wrote GB 1, he also wrote Blues Brothers 2000.

George Lucas did the original Star Wars, he also did the most recent Star Wars films.

Tim Burton made TNBC, but he also made Corpse Bride.

You seem to think that simply because someone who wrote/worked on the original= good.

That's a silly arguement and you know it, that'd be like "Well, this band was awesome back in the day, they are releasing a new album geared towards the MTV kids to make a quick buck, and it doesn't sound the same, but hey, it must be good because they wrote their first album right?"
Dozens of examples of all Media have failed in this way.
 
You are assuming a little too quickly that this will suck. Maybe it won't shit on the GB franchise and it will be a true game adaptation.

It's no sillier an argument than, "This is popular now, it will obviously suck." Revisiting a franchise doesn't automatically mean it's "making a quick buck," or that it's an automatic marker that something will be bad.

Let me pose something to you. Bill Murray loves the character of Peter Venkman, but if you talk to him about Ghostbusters 2 he'll tell you he absolutely hates it. He refused to have anything to do with the franchise after Ghostbusters 2 because, despite liking the character, he hated the direction it was going. Bill Murray also has never allowed his likeness in any Ghostbusters merchandise or spin-off, no matter how much "quick money" was involved. So obviously if he has that much respect for the character of Dr. Venkman, do you think he'd sign on for this project if it was in any way going to be bad?

Furthermore the game basically seems like you'll mainly be playing through events that happened in the first movie, or at least similar events. Going by that alone the game will obviously be cool because hey, you're pretty much playing Ghostbusters. I can't understand how you say you're a fan of Ghostbusters and then from page 2 drag the game through the mud based on not only what little information we have but also such brilliant arguments as "Blues Brothers 2000," "It's popular among teenagers today," and "Spore sucked, so will this." Look man if you were really a fan of Ghostbusters you'd be excited about the prospect of playing through some classic scenes. You'd be sitting here posting about how you're jazzed that you're going to be able to polarize some negatively-charged ectoplasmic entities with a 500,000MHz neutrona wand. Instead you're like "shit's going to suck."

Now I don't know whether you're just trying to not set yourself up for disappointment or what, but your arguments are lame and they're just making you look like you've got nostalgia goggles strapped so tight on your head they're leaving red rings around your eyes.

Let's be reasonable, when was Ghostbusters NOT popular? Why do you think it got a sequel? A comic? Two TV series? Nintendo games? Ghostbusters was always a popular franchise and for you to go and say now that it's going to be shit because they're revisiting the franchise years later, and it's just for some quick money, you're off it, dude. You're off it.

By the way...the original Star Wars wasn't that good a movie. Yeah, I said it. Empire, widely regarded as the best SW movie, wasn't even written by Lucas, and RoTJ was only co-written by Lucas. So it's not that Lucas went crazy making the latest trilogy, which he always planned to do, it's simply that he was a bad writer to begin with. Go read the original SW script with Annikin Starkiller if you want proof of that. Citing Lucas as a counter-argument is flawed because Lucas was ALWAYS bad.

I don't believe being a fan means you have to enjoy all of it's workings, in the same way I do not believe as being a fan of The Cure I have to approve of Robert Smith's collaboration and appraisal of Ashlee ****ing Simpson.

I liked the first two films, and I liked the original TV series (One from the Late 90's sucked). I still have my old Slimer T-shirt lying around from when I was a tot (was my favorite character from anything) and several of the old GB toys, and I just noticed, very ironically that I am wearing a Venkman shirt at this moment.

Yeah but you're basing it on arbitrary things. I mean you really have nothing to go on WHY it's going to be bad. You're just predicting it's going to be bad for silly reasons. It's one thing to be cautiously realistic about how something is going to turn out, but I mean...it just hurts the way you look when you're going on about how something is going to suck and you're throwing all these weird "reasons" into the mix. We literally know NOTHING about the game.

Man I don't know where you got a Venkman shirt, unless you mean from the cartoon. Because Bill Murray is notorious for not lending his likeness to things. I'm not sure why.

Also Extreme was a good show. I don't know why some people rag on it. The Samhain episode, the episode of the fear ghost, the succubus-hag-thing, Eduardo and Kylie being awesome...show was pretty cool. I've heard such split opinions on that show, but I'm telling you it's a lot of nostalgia goggles. The original Ghostbusters cartoon was good, but Extreme was on a similar level. The only difference? Different cast. That's it. That is the ONLY difference, and I've got every episode of Extreme and the Ghostbusters cartoon DVDs to prove it.











And anyway we all know both of them weren't as cool as Filmation's Ghostbusters. Yeah you heard me. PRIME EVIL, son.
