I just wanted to know if GhostValkyrie's rights can be given back since I think he is a respected mod and if he made a mistake and apologised then I think he should be given another chance.

Everyone looses their rag once in a while. I did in the same thread...

I would appreciate it is this wasnt locked btw. I just wan't to see how many people agree with me.



Please reinstate GhostValkyrie as a mod asap.

Why were his rights taken away? And when? Also, I would consider getting rid ofsome of the mods that NEVER post/come here anymore.

I agree, Ghost did lose his cool, but that's not the best reason to de-mod him. And, it's like was said, he did apologize.

Please give him his rights back. I will allways trust him more as a mod than any replacement you find. I have seen him work. :)
 
Im sick of these threads about "Oh please give these cool people who Ive never met their "powers" back". Im sure its not really that big a deal to them, and it shouldnt be to you.

I have not met him in real life. But what the hell does that hav to do with anything if you don't mind me asking.


I wan't him back because he has been a good mod in the forum. Not because he is someone i know personally. And its a big deal to be because I feel it was a bad desicion to take away is rights as well as being unjust.
 
Harsh, yet the fact his mod-ship was take away for that is really bad. Please re-instate him. We have all gone crazy once. Don't be afraid to make me a mod. :D j/k(maybe)

I think perhaps you need to check through all the posts a person has made before taking action like banning someone or removing mod status really... this is just a one off. Although that is a BIG one off. Some of the stuff said was awful and I dont blame Munro or whoever removing his mod status I would probably had done it, however everyone deserves a second chance. Sorry if i contradicted myself , I understood it so thats what matters :)

Since it was the comments he made about me that are at least partly/mostly to blame and since I forgive with no hesitation I think thats a sign that we wan't him back as a mod....

That is...seriously, I can't think of any words to describe it. I'm feeling sick just thinking about it. :(

What little respect I once had for GV is now completely gone. Not that I think he cares, but still.

Maybe you do, but we the staff are currently deciding what would be best in this situation. Just because a few of you guys think he should be mod again doesn't mean it should be gospel.
 
I think he just kinda over reacted to my post. I doubt that he would prefere them dead if they were inocent of anything.


Yes they were harsh comments. Very harsh. But he is a good moderator and everyone has touchy subjects. Just so happens his is the war in iraq and the millitary. Which gets me in a strange mood to be honest. But I aint gona go into that....


Edit: Completely understand mate, just thought I might be able to help since I was more than slightly concerned in it from the start. Our opinions are valid though right? :)

It was harsh. Though I doubt any of the soldiers fighting in the war deserve to die. Saddam made them fight for him. I am sure most of them didn't like it. Except for the Republican Guard and loyalists.

Of course, HalfLife2.net's strongest point is its community, we are always open to comments, suggestions and general feedback. I'm just saying that while your thoughts on this issue are welcome, don't underestimate the fact that the staff itself also needs to decide what to do.
 
I understand of course, I aint trying to take the decision for you. Just influence it slightly :p

GV went out of line. Mod's should be an example in forums. Abom for instance. I see him as figure of authority in these forums. But unfortenately no other mod here follows his example.
But now marksman said that GV apologized for his action. Well I honestly think GV is a little Anti-american, but whatever, americans are usually assholes that believe they rule the world. So to finish I support GV but the decision is not up to me or any other person except Munro and a few others.
 
This is something the staff decides, not the public.

Just wanted to say that in the end, no human being deserves to die.
 
I'm afraid, this time, it's the staff's issue. I sound so hypocritical right now, having lost my staff myself... but this isn't just about a single post forumites. Sorry. I'd love to say more, you lot deserve it, but I can't.

I'm not Anti-Bush either, though he is pissing me off with his recent actions.
I really don't like the temporary-legal status for Mexican Immigrants.(Any immigrants for that matter.)
Last time I checked, if you were only here temporarily, you could get a Work Visa.

Keep that up and some accidents may happen such as ex soldiers and police bursting through your door dressed as FBI storm troopers and tear apart all your paper, burn your computer and generally make a mess.

Unfortunately marksman I have to disagree with your post. A mod represents the face of HL².net to the public, so there is an inherent responsibility in that role to give due consideration as to what and how you post. That was an inherently ugly post that should never of gotten past the submit reply button.

Frankly I'm not the least bit surprised that GV's had his status revoked over his remarks. To my mind it's another fine example of GV telling people on the forum, what colour pants they are wearing and how to wear them, with his big ole Texas attitude, ie USA = Good (god bless america....Salutes), rest of the world = bad (gay commie pinko bastards). What good is a moderator who can't be moderate?
 
hes the only republican mod i know of, not to mention, all of our tempers fly. To penilize hime for a common mistake is beyond retarded. You've got my vote to represent my people Valk. Valk for super MOD!!!!
 
I appreiciate that opinion. I am from the UK myself. And I personally hate patriotism and what it can do to people. (Don't get me wrong, its good in small doses imo :p)


But I still think he did a decent job as a moderator. And it allways helps to have different points of view. (Ok nearly allways. ;))
Plus I would be very supprised if he didn't remember this incident if he was given his job back and I reckon it would help him keep it moderate.




Anyway, I don't know what else to say to be honest. Most of my opinions are allready in this thread. So I would just be repeating myself if I continue. So i'll stop typeing now....... :p

Kadayi, you and people like you are the ones that dont want to put murder's and rapists to death or leave them in prison for life. But when a man that disagrees with your views and gets slightly worked up, about how your blasting his views rants and fights back you take away his power. seems pretty back wards to me.....
 
This is crazy. Most of the mods are Brittish so of course hes the only republican you know of. Trust me, you dont know all the facts. Ghost is not a bad person, thats obvious, but when you are a moderator you have to, as kadayi says, remain moderate.
 
To be honest weadoe I don't think he was bashing me as such. And I happen to be one of those people who think people should be given second chances....
