Girls banned from wearing "Purity Rings" at UK school

If it's against the school dress code to wear jewelery there is absoluetely nothing up to debate here.

People don't follow drug laws... and oppose them openly. But the almighty school dress code MUST be upheld!

I don't have a problem with it, I just feel that sometimes people in your position think they have the moral highground and look down on "the others" that do have sex. Everyone should have the right to make their choice without people judging them.

But I... don't. Everyone, in everything, can look down on those who don't. Athletes at my school can look down on people who aren't athletic, but that doesn't mean people have a negative view on football). It just seems so strange. It's the best way to stop oneself from not chancing kids or a disease, and everyone here seems to act like it's a horrifying act of depravity or something like that.

It is a horrifying act of depravity. You're depriving yourself from sex ffs. But I guess you don't know what your missing out on.

I guess i'll leave you alone to think about...nothing really. This thread shouldn't have reached this far in the first place.

So true. I mean if you can do it, all the more power to you.. But it's honestly pretty much necessary for me at this point. Life would be a hell of a lot less fun / worth living without it.

Um, people who don't follow drug laws get arrested when caught.

People who don't follow school uniform codes get in trouble when caught.

The uniform policy was once strict in my school, but I think they got tired of it once everyone got into that whole "I am going to put massive blocks of ****ing wood in my ears." trend.

You know, discipline is really important in schools. Not allowing them to break dress codes is teaching discipline. Discipline is what that has made this world work. (Mostly)

People seem to think that uniformity kills individuality. But no, if you break out of the mold too much, and stop being a part of the machine called society, you will lose what you are, what you mean, and what you are supposed to be. That is the killer of individuality, the not conforming to what is right. And do not think that breaking out of the mold will have any effect on society, because there are hundreds and thousands of people that can and are willing to be a productive asset and a part of the machine.

Wearing jewelery will HARDLY make people grow up uncivilized outcasts of society.

One step away from conformity will be a giant leap from discipline

No, he's one step away from this guy.

If he isn't faking it, he's doing it for attention. It was old 7,250 posts ago, and it is old now. Drop it, numbers :|

Oh. Well its some woman answering the question "Which of following is the largest?" out of
A. A Peanut
B. An Elephant
C. The Moon
D. A Kettle

She chose B. An Elephant

It was the first picture that came up on google when I searched "Dumbass" ;)

Actually, I got my ideas at circa 3000 posts. :p

And no, this isn't attention seeking. Although I have to admit that I sometimes sekk attention, this is not it. I believe that Discipline is important. Its is one of the basic things that make up the fundamentals of society.
God.

I really hate going through this everytime. You call me fascist and brainwashed, for some reason that I cannot know. And yes I am a fascist, provided it means centralized and effective goverment with anti-communism. Brainwashed? Maybe you are the ones that are brainwashed, not me. Maybe I really am. But why does this matter? Why? It seems to me that you just try to simplify what I say with words like 'propaganda' and 'ranting' and 'mindless nationalism/ whatever'. Please, just accept that there is a guy on the other side of the world, sharing the same cyberspace in the internets, that has these thoughts and posts them accordingly.

Bleargh. I just ranted again.

EDIT: searched for 'goebbels redet', all I could find was that he wa a poet(?) in the 1930s?

What crap propaganda? Three examples, please.

btw, http://kr.news.yahoo.com/service/ne...spute&articleid=2006062107213500023&type=date is proof. Scrolling down and translated, most of the posters say something along the lines of "Destroy Communism", "Our state of Natonal security is worrying me", "Let us go and Kill Kim Jong Il (which got 323 agreed votes and 11 disagreed)"

Two wrongs don't make a right. :|

Plus, people who don't follow drug laws are prosecuted if caught, so I really don't see what you're trying to say.
If they want to oppose the school dress code, they can go ahead, but they'd have to be looking to unban jewellery, not abstinence rings.

Not for you to choose how they decide to run their school. Those girls don't have to attend it.
