It is pretty sad, but I don't believe it's fair to call those who complain about the change n00bs, when, it's quite the opposite. If I was still in a league, I would agree that it needs to be changed to how it was. As is, I hardly ever play CS these days, and it doesn't really matter to me anymore

Good point, the changes with AWP is gonna put league players through hell. I'm just tired of the cs community complaining literally EVERY update and saying how they hate the game now, how it sucks so bad etc...yet they still play it. And do the same thing when the next update hits.

What can you expect from the worst community in gaming though.

Also... it angers me when people call AWPers noobs. If they are noobs like you say then you should have no problem avoiding their AWP shots. I dodge noob AWPers all the time, and they are usually easier to kill than noobs using rifles because they can't spray like mad and get lucky headshots.
If there is a GOOD sniper you need to learn to: 1) outsnipe him 2) avoid him 3) outnumber him 4) shoot him from the side/back or 5) flash/smoke him. It's really not that hard to avoid. Don't be mad just because you rush straight towards him spraying and keep dying. Get some skill.

No, it's the same gun. Only they removed a "bug" (which still exists with some other guns) which allowed you to switch to AWP from a deagle (or vice versa) with no animation being played inbetween and being able to fire either gun the second you switch. They made it so you have to wait about 2 seconds before you can fire/zoom

Was there ever a build where all the guns were equal? I don't think so. After all, what would be the point of the money-based buy dynamic if all weapons were equal? The whole point of the buy system is that they're not equal and to get decent guns you need to kill people. Or die for your team, since you get money if they win.

Anyway, yeah. AWP? Who cares? I don't use it anyway. It's dishonorable. Scout forever!

Communist games are stupid. I like the fact that some guns are better than others, i like the fact that some maps favour one side over the other side.

Perfectly balanced games are repetitively bland.

As for this AWP situation. There was no need to change it. I say that because CS is the most popular FPS on the planet and doesn't really need any changes...

I never like the awp. Anything decreasing its power and ease of use I support.

Have you ever fired the awp while jumping? You have about a 1/1,000 chance of hitting anything. Even moving a little while firing totally screws your accuracy. I don't think you have to worry about your above scenario.

Its not only the fact that they have removed the autoswitch i have nothing against taht.. but the thing is that it has a delay of about 2 secods to zoom in, unless you are crouched.. or in a still position, therfore its increasing the amount of campers.. and thus making the game much more boring..

cs has just changed so much in the last cople of versions, i dont like the way im forced to have a tiny sight, and i dont like the way the spray pattens have been totaly changed . what difference does it make how big my gun sight is ? and the weapons are just so random now, its going to totaly ruin the game for pros, they are pro because they learn the spray and just know how to shoot now that its all random they are just going to be as good as anyone elce. it has taken some of the skill out of it :/

i think people are so used to the fast change with the awp and now it has changed its some major thing, which it kinda is but once people get used to it it will be fine. but i think it will create more awp campers. i would always rush with the rest of my mates with the awp but the slower pace of it is gunna make it so much harder to do that.

the AWP isnt a n00b gun. its a gun used by both n00bs and pros alike- but only the pros can truly master it. a n00b would just camp on a roof somewhere looking through his scope, but a pro would give their squad needed support from the back during an advance, or steadily hold the defence of a bomb site/ hostages along with some close- medium range combat guys.

its a tactical weapon, its just that many people use it innapropriately. Those who wine at AWPers (i dont mean the moment they die- everyone swears a little when theyre caught offgaurd by one )are generally n00bs themselves, as most people grow out of whining and assault from a tactically stealthy point, then come from behind. Most the people who wine all the time are noobs who run along, close to their destination, and then get angry when the AWPer hears his footsteps.

But just to make this clear: i never use the AWP as i prefer to be a mid distance rifleman (AK or M4 usually).

and tbh the update is rather crap- switching weapons is something that you need to do in order to use the gun well - n00bs wouldnt really notice the change though.

but making an online petition? how sad do you have to be!!?? i mean i can understand why people would want it changed, but valve (having their relatively good reputation in everything exept timing) would probally listen to them without a bloody online petition! i went on the IRC room and there were 1,040 people idling, over 300 had changed their name to display the tag AWPBACK|nick. thats sad.

lol awps have never given me problems. as the one guy mentioned, unless the guy is really good, it's VERY easy to dodge an awper. if you wanna be skilled... do what i do. full time desert eagle. ...it REALLY puts the awpers in their places \o/ ... they get so pissed when you snipe them with a pistol hahaha... okay well blah anyways.

Never had much of a problem with the thing- someone kills me with it? Next time I buy one, wait patiently for them to retake their position (which they invariably do) and 9 times out of ten I'll cap them.

The fastswitch bug was bloody annoying, but now its fixed I've got no problem with the gun- I don't even like CS much, but some idiotic part of me keeps going back to the pseudo realistic campfest...

Always remember that you HATE Counterstrike. Every time something doesn't go your way, be sure to inform everybody that you hate it with creative phrases like "I hate CS", "**** CS" or "I ****ing hate CS". But never actually stop playing the game, simply continue to comment on how the game you've been playing for the last four hours sucks because they weakened your favorite rifle.

I wouldn't say that. There are plenty of nice, mature CS players out there. All games have their share of whiny idiots, but since CS has such a large number of players it seems like a lot more. I don't know, maybe it does have a disproportionate amount. However, the people who are stupid and complain a lot are the ones who get heard.

No I know that there are some cool CS people. But surely you can admit that even with the more mature gamers playing it, the community as a whole is infested with complete idiots, cheaters, dumbass "I"M SO 1337" guys etc.

There's definately some cool guys in it but it's a very small amount as opposed to the huge number of people that ruin it. Actually I'd say CS and Diablo II are tied for worst community ever.

Well, if they like the game in general what exactly are they suppose to do? It's not like they can change it. I actually stopped playing CS for the most part because of the recent changes.

But now atleast we are starting to have a choice, though. This was posted in another thread and I've since installed it.
