Glass...

hey, I have just started mapping again for the first time in what seems and is most likely years and I have a question you guys will be likely to help me with. In all of the HL2 tech demos etc and in the game it self there are the most amazing glass effects and I was wondering how to creating this as all I can achieve is the standard see-through type. Im after something that you can kinda see-through but blurs/distorts the other side (if that makes sense) thanks for all your help!
 
Hmm not sure what you mean, I didn't even notice that in the game. It is likely some sort of shader.
 
when you run the stress test in cs:s there is a bunch of rotating glass... i think it might be the 2nd one is the kinda effect that im after.
 
Import a model, in the model folder there is a folder called Shaders or something like that, in which you'll find the models of the spinning glass things that already have the coding attatched to them to get the funky effects working.

Just import a prop_static into your map and give it the worldmodel of the shader block you want to use.
