Is global warming caused by man or not?

Is it as severe as it's been told?

Am I the only one who belives that global warming is mostly caused by nature and not man?

It is caused by man, if not stopped it will cause massive economical damage but it will not spell the end of civilization.

I used to believe that it was just something the planet did on an erratic basis. Temperatures and geography have fluctuated historically over time. And while I may still believe a part of it is nature, I believe man is accelerating the process many fold due to the extreme amounts of compounds released into the oceans and atmosphere.

we dont release much in comparison to earth, it's all lies & down to nature.

QFT. Since the industrial revolution, fluctuations in the earths climate have accelterated quite rapidly. Overall though climate change wont be the end of the world as we know it.... far from it as we're all beginning to realise is that the earth has been far warmer in the past than it is currently. see this picture for reference to fossil records of the arctic tree line 6000 years ago...

However I have no doubts that mankind is a major contributor to global warming even when you factor in past events where the earth was warmer. Check out this graph showing temperature fluictuation for the past 1000 years.

As you can see in this chart temperature changes in the last 1000 years have fluctuated quite a lot. However temperature changes in the past have been quite gradual in comparision to what records show from the industrial revolution onwards where the temperatre has increased very rapidly in geological terms...

The earth's atmosphere contains 78% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, roughly 1% water vapour and only 0.038% carbon dioxide. I find it kinda hard to believe that the rise in Co2 levels from 280 parts per million in the 1700s (ice core samples) to 380 parts per million is the cause of the world heating. That's a rise from .0028% to .0038% of the atmosphere.

I believe that global warming is for the most part a natural event, something we can't do dick shit about.

I'm standing on the sideline encouraging people to discover wicked new energy sources. :D

It's accelerated by man not caused. Anyone who says otherwise needs to kick themselves.

could be we are in the middle of a pole change. happens every 250 thousand years or so.

When a consenous of highly trained, superbly qualified and very inteligent scientists say that man is accelerating global warming, I am going to believe them. Because they know what they are talking about. People who deny global warming, or at least it bieng caused by man, don't.

Well we certainly aren't helping the environment, as regards to how much damage we are doing, I don't know I just accept the official line

I mean we know co2 warms the planet....and we know cars (and other things) produce co2...so....what's the problem? We've done so many bad things to this planet yet for some reason people act like it's impossible we're doing this one?
