Gman sightings

just a random question.
i was wondering why they took out the gman sightings that were in HL1 & Hl2
i don't remember any in Episode 1 and I'm pretty positive there are none in Episode 2, other than during his talk.
is there a reason for this?

There's a sighting of him when you first see the car (I keep missing it darn it) and another when Alyx says "Prepare for unforseen consequences".

During Episode 1, you are out of the G-man's reach. They're back in Ep 2.

Theres also one sighting when entering the Inn road before the two destroyed cars.

He can be seen entering the house or something

I have yet to see this one...

I tend to miss this kind of stuff too, too busy looking for the next threat to notice usually. The one where Alyx delivers the message to Eli there's a nice big bass note. It's nicely done really as Alyx reacts to it and then her face goes kind of blank as she speaks.
For the car though I repeatedly looked, is he just so far away that he's beyond my draw distance or something because I really can't see him.

when you first get to the rebel base that has the car (the area that leads to the sniper rifle vantage point, the way into the base), if you look to the left the Gman is on the bridge, walking toward the tunnel entrance.

He appears on the bridge where the buggy car is. When Alyx says something like: Look I can see the car on the bridge.

I have yet to see this one...

Though I've yet to see it, the Commentary for this level says that you see a Hunter and a Soldier before you get to the Inn, foreshadowing the Siege in this chapter. It's more likely that then the G-Man.
