aye, but most of the ppl are posting the websites..

I've only seen websites for downloading the p2p programs mentioned. Again, nothing wrong with that. The programs in and of themselves aren't illegal, and have legitimate uses.

Something you may or may not find interesting:

Napster and Kazaa basically do the same thing, allow users to share copywrited material (as well as other stuff).

Napster was shut down, Kazaa wasn't.
The reason isn't because Napster used servers, and so could be shut down. Kazaa's creators were sued by record companies, but they were let off, Napster's creators weren't let off.

The reason is because Napster got it's money through adverts within its software, where-as Kazaa got it's money through infomation collected through spyware.

The fundimental difference between these methods, and what made for different legal outcomes, is that for Napster to make money you had to actually use their software (and so see the adds), but you only had to install Kazaa (since spyware works as soon as it's installed).

I never thought the day would come when hl2.net moderators where clowns and let you freely discuss ilegal file sharing.
It is here.

Again, there is nothing illegal about these programs, so there is no need to stop the conversation.

Clowns are scary.

I just found it funny that this would've been the last post in this thread if i hadn't pointed out the comedy. :D
