I've worked it out that it'l take me 12days to dl 4gigs of hl2 at 70kb/s.

Just wondering if any UK people have dled the hl2 preload cache and would like to burn it to a disk and mail it me? ;(

If not... i understand ;( *sob*..... it'd be SOOOO appreciated though

Yeah dude, it's not going to take 12 days at the rate of 70kb/s. Just put the download on at nights or whenever you're not using the computer, it won't take that long

Wait, I downloaded all of the files today and I only have a 700kbit connexion. That's about 70 kb/s (maybe a bit more). I started at about 7am and I finished a few hours ago. Granted, that's just Half-Life 2 (I already have CS:S) but you can still do it in a day.

It shouldnt take long...I always max out my connection on steam's servers 720kbit

considering every pre-load is compressed down to 500MB's, pre section, your not downloading the actual 3.34GB's over your line, but 2GB's. Then the pre-load is uncompressed the moment it reached your harddrive. you need to stop crying, you dont have to download it all at once. Also HL2 is 3.5GB's uncompressed, theres only going to be im guessing one more pre-load.
