Is going to college for Game Design etc a good idea?

For most of my life I've wanted to be an aerospace engineer. But lately, I've been considering programming and game design.

Opinions?

in unversities (is the same as college right?) teach game design?

Theres a few that do, just saw a commercial for one on T.V. as a matter of fact.

If you do aerospace engineering, you'll learn a lot about programming.

I'm not sure if there's any colleges with a decent rep for games design, but it is always something you can do in your spare time.

Most game designers learnt how to code in their bedroom, not in a lecture theatre.

Look at Counter-Strike up until retail. Mighty fine job if I say so myself for bedroom work.

But yeah, do whatever you want. Aerospace Engineering would give you alot of skills in the game creating world. But something tells me Aerospace Engineering would be...better sounding on other resumes ;)
