As some people know i am English and so should care more about my own government than this one but frankly mine isn't as beautifully crazy. Anyways, it is good to see Bush has gone into a post-convention wane and once again the polls are showing a closer race with Kerry possibly in the lead.

Although i still stick to my feeling Bush has a much larger chance of winning because he can campaign in a far more aggressive style. The debate rages.

Ok that's bullsh!t...........[pause for effect] I've seen Paralment argueing on CSPAN with the "Honorable Good Sir" sillyness... It's just as beautifully crazy.

BTW - I'll bet you that Bush wins... If I win you have to start a thread about me and give me at least a paragraph of why the Sgt. is such a great human being and how America is the land of the free and home of the brave yaddy, yaddy, ya.

I'll do the same for you if I lose.... Deal?

I have to read the NY Times every day (even though I'm in Arizona) and I can tell you that both canididates are incredibly aggresive. I would post evidence, but I have to finish up some homework before I go to meet with a couple of Professors.

Go to www.nytimes.com and read some articles. They bicker like little children.

Kerry is not an aggressive candidate, the guy obviously uses vitriol etc. but that is not aggressive campaigning, that is campaigning. Maybe i am getting a skewed view being a non American, but in the international news i receive including Time, he is defensive. Give some examples and i'll check out the page.

To the SGT, i also think Bush shall win right now, i dunno what the other point was, i get a feeling the article has changed or something.
If you come up with a decent bet i'll go for it, but we'd have to change the stakes.

Kerries campaigning is really lacking for a democrating candidate. At most, I think the campaigning should be reversed in its current state, to sometimes represent a democratic campaigning.

The more this goes on the more I think the Dems are actively not pushing Kerry so that they can get Hillary in 08... Wait until the election is over. Kerry just may come unglued on his own party once he doesn't need them.

here's a question for shellback and all the bush supporters ...what if Kerry wins? will you support him no matter what?

Well, I didn't move to Canada when Carter was in office.

Yes

Assuming he doesn't do anything incredibly stupid (on your scale - worse than Bush).

When you say vomit you mean you are so repelled by those ideas that you would be sick...or so shocked that an American President managed to introduce some social liberalism you would vomit?

To beat the canadians all you need is a hockey puck.. through it into a truck and watch them all flood into it then haul them all away

I am shocked to think that someone could be sick at the idea of legalised abortion, it is a very important freedom for people to have.

With regards the church and state i think Americans should be very careful about it occuring, the same sex marriage thing is something i do not agree with personally, i think it is a union specifically for a man and a woman to help propogate society but i certainly think that same sex couples should have access to the same rights as any married couple. Being sick at that is worryingly fascist.

The apology for the war in Iraq is a strange one in my eyes, i am still undecided on the relative worth of it occuring but i have to say the premises it was based on were fictious and the whole affair is very sordid. I think an apology would be very nice because the lies that have been told are awful and should be faced up to.

Heh, I pretty much agree with you completely here. Except that I think same sex couples should be allowed to marry as I see any ban disallowing that as being religiously intolerant and a dangerous break in the line between church and state.

i should clarify that. FOR early (1st trimester) abortions, AGAINST later abortions (mid 2nd-3rd trimester). though ideally all would be illegal, if i had to make a concession, thats what it would be.

i also agree with civil unions, i dont agree with gay marriages in the religious sense.

i dont believe the iraq war was "wrong" to begin with, as arguments can be made both ways very convincingly.

Me as well.

Agreeing, the sequel.

On the 'gay marriage' thing, it is my own feelings and i accept them as non inclusive and slightly archaic i just feel that there is a sanctity to marriage that is worth preserving.

On the Iraq front i could not agree less, the result may be debatable but the premises were definitly lot, Bush told lies knowingly and without remorse, that is not what a president should do.
