In the latest DirectX update (December 2006), the developers have stated that Win 95, 98, or ME are officially supported any more and any versions of DirectX from here on out will not even install...

Well, for those people who are still hanging on to Win98 or 95 (would anybody seriously run ME???), get with the times and upgrade! :p

Just sort of curious that it seems those versions are now pretty much dead in every way now.

And what, prey tell, is wrong with Win '95? I for one won't be upgrading.

i run Win 95. Its somewhere in the colset, i use to use it 3 years ago to play some 1996 game...

My dad is still a huge fan of 98. He hates XP with a passion, but then again, when you fix computers for a living, and see all the shit XP does..yeah..I kinda see where he is going.

98 was the worst for me. I had to fix that POS so many times. XP lets me be lazy and only need to fix things if I totally **** up something on accident.

XP is a heap of crap. But it is the most readily compatible thing out, and people write everything for it. So that's why you use it.

Uh huh. At least XP does shit. 98 is like "OMFG, they are trying to do shit! BSOD!!!11oneoneleven".

I've yet to have a major problem with it since Sp2 and before that it was just damn viruses.

XP is a heap of crap in terms of cleanliness and effeciency. It doesn't really break all that often, but it gets clogged registerys and such really easy. Which in tern has a detrimental affect on your computers speed and use of processing power.

lol, you can't be serious? I am a full qualified professional computer technician and xp makes my life so much easier than bloody windows 98, your dad must be backwards or have problems simplifying things and has way to much spare time on his hands or fix every problem with a format and a reinstall.

This is me laughing at your dad -

While I am somewhat of an XP fan after going through the pain that is ME, I do agree that most of this is probably true.

My computer runs slower than I know it should be.
