Can anyone clarify, is the invite system still available? I keep hearing mixed reports that Google have taken it down? If not, does anyone have any spare invites pretty please, cherry on top, free internets etc etc?

I know why Google do this (Generates massive hype), but its frigging annoying to those who are on the outside of it not knowing what is happening.

To those not on Google Plus, you're not missing much.

For me, they did the exact same mistake they did with Buzz - intergrating it with your existing gmail accounts. I don't know about you guys, but I have never sent an email to a single one of my friends, I email people for jobs, people I work for, people I want to briefly exchange words with, not the kind of people I want to show up on my social network.

And yet when I load up Google Plus, there they are. The chat feature is just Google chat, something I almost never use as for reasons above the people I have on it are not my friends.

Another thing that weirds my out, is if I'm searching for porn and accidentally click a +1 link, there it is for all my friends to see. If there are two things upoun this heaven and earth, horatio, that I do not want mixed are my search account and my social network account. No way hozzay, just weirds me out completely.

If I didn't love Gmail so much, I would delete all my Google accounts and use it 'anonymously'. I really don't like the idea of not knowing what I'm sharing and with who. Google have made a big point of being privacy friendly and all that, but if anything I've got the exact opposite feeling.

Private browsing. You need to start using it.
