Only testing these things out atm :) For some reason I can't get these damn things to show anything but a white space. Has anyone used them before and know what I'm doing wrong? :)

Iv tryed it m8 and TBH its a waste of money, Mabye a few years ago you could have made a living from this but now every 1 is on the wagon and its hard to find a niche market.
My advice save your money.
 
Ah yes ive seen this on another site its quite good actually. Perhaps id refer you to the forum maintainence guy but im a bit of a forum noob there. :(

You're not too expensive now we're on free hosting :) But I am planning a lot of things for the site that require additional funds that I don't have. It would be nice to get a few pennies to contribute to the community in prizes, servers and such.

Edit: oooh the ads appear to work now :D
 
ooooh, servers and prizes, sounds promising :D better have an ut2k4 server now that ive bought the full game though :p
 
We were also talking about merchandise too which could be cool. Just need the money to get that started first.

T-shirts with "I saw the carrot" scrawled along the front. Class.

This could quite easily turn into THE number one gaming community in the entire world you know.....


I mean once HL2 is released then I think we can expect a massive influx of users. The only problem with this is I think it will become more difficult to maintain the community aspect we have now.

Maybe you could make a forum section for people that have been here for a long time. That would be sweet for all us old timers!





Either way, this site rocks!

We have had thoughts on something like this. How we implement this however is still uncertain.

I dunno if this is useful at all but this is what that guy told me :
"If all user tables have a column with user posts, he should be able to do a check (user has more than x posts or not), conveniently in the most parent file (global.php perhaps). This will turn out true or false (boolean), and then run a "if" check (display ad code or not) on that boolean variable in his templates or interface php files."
By the way i think you need to implement it into the forum not the main page. You could try this but thats only what they have done. Like so : www.radiomute.com

I clicked all 3 parts of the ad for HL2.net as well :) Not sure if you needed to click more than one, but, overkill never hurt anyone (I know, untrue statement)
 
Great if you make money tbh, just fill up the entire page with ads...
 
If HL2 gets an exclusive scoop, I say plaster ads ALL over the place so you make LOADS of money.. just imagine, if you had a popup ad that loaded on every new page and made you 1¢ every view that day Gabe posted here
 
Yeah.. I think it's fun with gamingsites and stuff that have lots of info and images, like ads and stuff. I wouldn't mind having more ads on the top right and left, to the sides of this forum-space and stuff like that!
 
Having a 1337 person forum would be good. 1000 posts to get in :), although the point of it is starting to be lost on me.

Oi m8 its an old idea, but yes very good idea indeed! It has been discussed before and I am all for it, however one of the mods said it was a doomed idea since the excluded members would feel .. well, excluded? and it would be another reason for the newbes to postspam if number of posts would be the way you'd get in.

About the ads... I cant see it ? It just say advert and then a blank square under it, right above the Affiliates linx. .... ......?? Im at work maybe its these sequre computers that does it.

I wanna support my dear HL².net ! :(

Edit: It works now for me aswell, just had to wait and press update (F5).
It opens in the same window and not in a new? doesnt that just send our/your "customers" on to the linked sites?
