Gordan Freeman, a lone man?

You need to watch some worse movies my friend. (Not that the Tomb Raiders were any good, but definitly not the worst.)
I myself got a kick outta Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. It was essentially anime in 3D. HL would be an interesting topic to to try the 3D thing out on again (all the environments would be exacting to the originals).
My dream directors would have to be Peter Jackson, Ridley Scott, or James Cameron.
Personally I think that Valve's take on the idea is perfect. It ensures that if a movie is EVER made that it has a chance of being decent.

The half-life movie would be awesome. I think the perfect Gordon would be Johnney Depp. Anyone see the cover to "The Ninth Gate"? Depp looks just like Gordon. And he could pull off an eccentric yet genius acting style that Gordon would require.

johnny depp would be a shit choice for HL2 movie. charlie sheen would be the obvious choice for gordon i mean he looks JUST like him

Barney in Half Life 2 looks like Robert Downey Jr.

While I do think Alyx's father could be played well by Morgan Freeman--it would seem like a longshot for him to take the role, unless one of his son plays HL and urges him to at gun point (that's why the venerable RaulJulia was in that shiat Street Fighter--his last film to boot, uch).

And as Gordon Freeman: Guy Pearce (memento, time machine).

Directors--well here are some of the most PLAUSIBLE pick to direct if there is ever a movie to be had; the avant garde neo-auteurs that have great futures in years to come: Christopher Nolan; Guy Richie; Danny Boyle;Antonia Bird; Shinobu Yaguchi (thiswould make a great film debut); David Fincher; David O'Rusell; and mebbe Spike Jonze (if he ever gets off his of charlie kaufman train).

Worst possible outcome for this a Half Life movie--it'll get in the hands of Michael Bay, Bruckheimer, Jan De Bont, and most notoriously--PAUL W.S. ANDERSON (not the good one).

He couldmanage playing Gordon. That, and he's a really cool actor. But hey, thats just my honest opinion.

Why should Gordon even care about Alyx? what if he were gay? or into SM alien-slave antics? for all we know Gordon could be a deranged sociopath or mute! He likes to murder maim and mangle, he's not exactly the loveable type, jeez he murdered about a whole platoon of marines in Halflife! How can you make a hero out of this guy?

I just saw a picture of Charlie Sheen in The Arrival, and yes, he does a lot like Mr. Freeman. So it definately should be one or the other. I still say Depp, anyway.
