Gordan should be talking

a cool thing would be if at the end of hl3 he would say two words to Alyx:

I'm sorry.

and then everybody dies :D

I really disagree with the idea of Gordon talking, it would totally ruin the game experience (how many games have been ruined with bad voice acting or by dumb comments?!).

Also the constant silence of the main character adds to the overall atmosphere. I mean how would you feel if Gordon started enthusiastically screaming when he killed something/body in Ravenholm.

And anyway why would Valve stop using a formula that worked till now?

I do like this idea, and it worked brilliantly in Half-life.
In Half-life 2, it was somewhat... not as brilliant because I really, really... *really* wanted to ask what the hell was going on in Kleiner and Eli's labs. That was the only thing that bothered me. All the other times, I nerded out and talked to my screen to fill in Gordon's dialouge instead. It must be a bitch to write dialouge and story telling that way though.
However, I would not hate them if some other company experimented with having for example Barney talk in a future expansion, see how it works out.

 It ruined it for me when you hear Gordon making noises such as *hup* *hup* when you run out of oxygen when in water or when you're getting burned in fire.

Not for me, though I would like to know who recorded those sounds :E
