whil playing through half life 1 again (after completing hl2 for the first time :cheese: ) I noticed that gordon has a picture of a kid in his locker in black mesa. could it be that gordon freeman has a family? wife? kids? and why does he never talk? is he mute, maybe? it would possibly explain why no one ever expects him to speak. it may even also contribute to his messianic stance among the rebels?

I used to presume the administrator was G-man, but obviously its breen, right? sounds suspicious? maybe he wanted this to happen, so the combine would chase the nihilanth (based on a theory on the wiki) to earth and grant him power?

He never talks because the developers want to make out that YOU the player are Gordon Freeman

Maybe it's one of those party invitation things. Picture on one side, details on the other side. I'm sure they had the technology back then to print party invites using custom photographs. Gordon just decided to keep the invitation in his locker.



NOTE: I realise that it's just a picture of a developer's baby thrown in there for fun, but in terms of forcing abstract things to fit into the storyline, I like to pretend that's a picture of Alyx.
