Title says it all

I have a Athlon 2800+ XP, 512 DDR, ATI Radeon 9800 256mb, a good mouse/keyboard combo which I am happy with, only a 3 speaker system that crackles a lot, and a refurbished E-machines 17" monitor. I have all the music I need, although I could use some DVDs and maybe some games, recommend stuff that Best Buy carries that I can get in the $0-$130 range.

Well, you have a pretty balanced system right now. I'd put it towards a new computer down the line. Or maybe something that will last a few years, like put it towards a 21" monitor. Assuming you can add stuff to it.

Just remembered I got $40 from my grandparents today, so $170 actually to spend...

Worth every penny.

That is, if you enjoy the movies...a lot.

I just got mine today. It's superbly amazing of how much stuff they crammed into this collection. I mean, 10 DVD's!

Watch this.

I'm not much of a matrix fan tbh

Here is what I plan to get so far in order of what I will get first

-Another 512 stick of RAM, maybe 2 if money permits
-New speakers or monitor
-Caddyshack (best movie ever)
-Houses of the Holy - Led Zeppelin

Other than that I am clueless

Buy a gift card!
Those things kick ass.

Errrh... that's what he has gotten for Best Buy in the first place

Heh Ive got about 120 to blow at best buy too, Im thinkin some nice surround sound speakers.

Any recomendations speaker wise?

EDIT:
Also I have an intel D845GEBV2 mobo with on board sound, will I need a sound card to get surround sound?

I'm sure you have a nice speaker setup with that system but get some surround sound headphones. I have 5.1 on my nice computer and I still prefer these babies, they're very clear and crisp and work great.

If you like DVDs, don't forget about LOTR:ROTK Extended Edition. My friend has it and the 50+ minutes really add ALOT to the movie.

Just some suggestions.

Ok, speakers are on my list, more ram for sure so I can up to 1 gig, and prolly get a cd with what is left

Oh, and bumpage

170? why not get like a gameing console and like 1 game, may be 2 if it their old.
