Got Car?

(Didn't see a thread like this in here, and thought I'd post one for the sake of conversation.)
What, if anything, are you guys/gals driving these days, and what do you think of it?
I'm using an '86 Saab 9000 Turbo, and its my baby. Fun to drive, is very quick and agile, and is built like a tank. My particular one has survived at least three major accidents (two from the previous owner, and mine wasn't my fault) including one involving a comercial truck. And it's running better now than in the last five years due to a little time and work. I swear, given unlimited funds I could keep it running for another twenty years. :cheers:

When i do get my license im gonna get a mini. Then maybe a new mini cooper. The one with the super charger

Im 16 turning 17 in September, I don't have much money so I probably won't be getting a car for some time after I get my full liscence, but right now I have my G1 (learners liscense) so I drive either my moms Dodge Stealth, or my dads Ford Taurus.

I take it you dont live in the UK. Here we can only start to learn when we are 17. If you live in the US isnt it like 16 or something?

In the US you can get your learners permit, which requires a licensed driver over the age of 18 or 21 (I forget) to be in the car, when you are 15. Once youturn 16 you can drive alone.

Sort of....in CT we need to get out permit at 16 and get our liscence at 16 1/2.

Heh. You get a provisional license here. You have to have a person over 21 years old who has been driving at least 3 years in the car with you. You can drive alone at 17 too.

I don't got a car. Why? The insurance rates here are insane. For a person my age you would pay around $6000/year or more. I have the money, but I'm not about to give it away to some insurance company.

I hate cars they r' teh gay... on a more serious note no I don't have one, i'm 16 I haven't done anything related to driving yet (I live in the US) I just hate how when people are able to do something that means they should do it immedietly, like peeps who drink themselves to death when they turn 21 or whatever the age is now just becuz its legal, its retarded really..

I'd agree with you about drinking, but driving is something which I consider really important - I live in a small village, so without my car I wouldn't be able to do anything.
