Well, new to me, but still a nice ride. Got me a 1988 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II. Car runs good, has some issues, but nothing that stops the car from pushing 10 lbs of boost. I'll definitely put some work into it, and the engine more than likely needs a rebuild sooner or later, so we'll see...Now for the pictures.

Didn't you have an RX-7 already? I'm going to get myself an MX-5 later, they look awesome and a mate of mine says they handle incredibly well.

take it through the car wash imo, and clean the insides :p

Your license plate is nice. But i agree, if the 216 was a "K", that would be the ultimate win.

Not a bad car, CP ... but I hope one day you'll mature a bit and buy a 3rd gen FD instead of all these rusty old FCs! :D

...some info would be better

fwd/rwd/awd?
4/5/6/8 cyl...rotary?
turbo/sc/NA?
2/4 door? wagon? truck?
How much to spend?
Is tunability an important factor?
Do you care about repair costs or reliability?

Niiiice. I dont like jap cars though. I'm more of a 1970 Plymouth Cuda fan, you know, muscle cars. The type of car that has the same RPM as jap cars in first gear but don't have that annoying whiny sound. Then it's amplified by a coffee can exhaust. :x

Rotary is one of the best engines, imo. It does require some maintaining, *you HAVE to watch the oil in that thing, never let it get near low* but damn if it doesn't spank the other cars on performance.

Yeah, I've got the same year but non-turbo and just shitty all together. I've wanted a turbo for a LONG time, and now I have it.
Isn't that your fifth RX-7! :O
not mine, but it's the 4th one in the household.
That's how quickly they wear out. He should have got a decent japanese sports car like a toyota mr2 turbo.
funny, my other one is on it's 240k miles, and only been rebuilt once. Damn, I guess regular 4 cyls back in 88 get 500k miles on a rebuild. These are really good. I see where people don't like it, it's different, and they don't understand it, so it's witch craft!! If treated right, 150k is easy to pull on a N/A.

ooh baby.

It's not maturity, it's $$$ This cost me $3,250. Decent FDs are 12-20k. D:

awd, turbo, 4 door, max 10K

Hot damn you finally got yourself a real FC! Congrats man! I love TII's, I wish I could get one...:(

"Though I walk through the valley of Subaru's and Integras, I shall fear no turbo... for torque art with me"
350 ft-lb @ 3200 RPMs, 5.7L V8

I live in a town-house. As much as i would love to, i doubt my neighbors would allow it.
Oh, and another cool feature about the car that i didn't mention is that it's actually magnetic to the female body.

personally I prefer motorcycles, but you can't haul a family around one one...........shit my life is over before it even started.

Yeah, I'm starting to notice that. :D

RICE!!

JK man, you'd better enjoy it! I hope you don't get too much rotor tip wear.

I'm just a domestic car person :). A car isn't a car unless it has the low end torque of a V8 :D. There's nothing like having 320 ft lbs of torque at 3,200 RPM for $3,500.

Haha, I like the sound of a turbo more than a grumbly engine. :p

Bah my car makes gobs of low end power but gas prices are on the rise. I'm parking the car and getting a bike this spring. It's either that or dump more money into the car, but I spied a shiny 06 'Busa I just might be lucky enough to cop.

Nice car Pitz. Looks damn fine for an 88.

Brand new car and all you could take pictures of were her ass and insides?!

did anyone else think that the red splotches in the third pic was blood ? . i've been watching too much csi :(.
