EDIT: upps, the title is supposed to say Got my FIRST real concusion today.
So i was snowboarding with a friend today, it had snowed during night so there was nice pouder snow but also a whole lot of ice. I went down a slope really fast, its a part of the slope were i always go fast without problems. For some reason i fell, i dont know how. All i remember was that i was going fast and i felt my snowboard wiggling a bit and the next thing i knew i was laying about 10 meters away. Everything was black for a few seconds, my hat was a few meters behind me. I had a pain in my head but i didnt pay any attention to it and started to climb backwards to get my hat. Then i went of to the side and rested a bit. Everyone ells around me looked at me as if they just saw the most amazing thing ever, they wouldnt stop starring at me. Then my friend came down and i told him about it, we rested for a few minutes and then continued down. We later took the lift to the summit. I didnt feel any noticable pain at all, but during the lift the pain grew and i felt nausia. When i arrived at the very top slope of the entire ski resort i noticed everything was blurry, i couldnt see in the corner of my eyes and i didnt have much deepth-of-field and i couldnt see the snow geometry (bumps etc). My balance system was way off too. Somehow i managed to get down the slope, rested a bit and bought a coke. The pain grew and we decided to get back home. We went to another cafe were my parents were waiting but for some reason they werent there. My parents had been nagging on me to buy a helmet for weeks but i have denied it...i dont know why, but i guess its just my arroganse to be "cool", a misstake i have learned from. After a few minutes i feelt like throwing up, i couldnt stand up, i had to lay down in the snow. Everyone looked at me as if im drunk but no one helped me. My friend tryed to keep me awake and keept talking to me. After a while i noticed my left arm disepearing (spell?) as if it wasnt there, this scared me shitless(is that a word?). I called my parents again and told them to speedhax to my location cuz i was really about to pass out. When they came i reached the car and threw up, twice. Then i was kind of half passed out during the ride home. As soon as i got home i threw up again and it feelt my brain was gone. I couldnt see or stand or think, more body parts became numb. I stayed in bed for many hours and now im feeling better, no more nausia and i have my balance back. I have a small headace but nothing serious.
So...moral of story...USE A HELMET. Now, who is willing to send me a free helmet! Its for a good cause! Think of my braincells!
Anything like this happend to you? First time for me, maybe it isnt anything big but hey, it could have been worse.
Btw, i blame all misspelled words and grammaticaly errors on this incident.
