Got your "Get out of school/work" excuses ready?

Why games come out on Tuesday is beyond me. But that being the case, I know there are going to be alot of people "sick" or alot of cars braking down that day. Now I have cut school enough playing Madden and can't possibly get away with it anymore. So while I work up a new way to get out of it on the 30th(gotta have my copy FIRST THING IN THE MORNING!), how are you guys going to get out of work/school or whatever destraction when HL2 is released in all its glory? I know I didn't save up for this new comp to have to wait to get the game.
 
I'm not, there's plenty of time after school seeing as I dont think I have to work that tuesday if I can plow through the current website im working on for Dola Automotives of Dola Ohio
 
If I know for sure what day it will be in the stores before the end of this week, I will just take a vacation day and let my boss know ahead of time. If I don't, oh well. I have a good sick voice that comes in handy when I need it to. :cheese:
 
I'm gonna get it through steam, especialy if they have a manual pdf etc :)

i don't have a job and I finished school last year, 30th should be the earliest morning I've had in 15 months :D I wonder what 8:00Am looks like..
 
When you're your own boss, you don't have to make excuses for yourself. :)
 
I have a terminal illness that prevents any human contact for at least a week.
 
Im taking a sabbatical so it kinda falls right into place for me :cheers:

What didnt you understand about what he said -- He would only leave school or work for his family and/or girlfreind, and not for a game which will be there when he's done

I can't but I am sure after school I will come home and find that HL2 has been purchased by my Dad. Time to work on my suprised face.:cheese:

I don't have to work on 9/30, but I got two classes , one in the early morning, and the other one from 1 - 3:15. The mall where my EBX is located is not even 5 min away, so I already preorderd, and im going to pick it up after class.

but what can i say to work though?

I like "playing a game, call in two weeks" i saw a few posts back

also my year 12 exams are comming up, probably should think about studying for them at some point. (not on the 30th though :cheese:)
 
sadly... i just got a new full time job at ups teleservices and i start monday the 22nd.... so there will be no skipping work for me till the 1st of nov when i have sick days earned... if i do i get put on a 6 week policy violation... where i lose my 5 days of paid vacation or some shit... anyways... i get off at 5 so i'm sure there will be plenty of time for me to have some fun eh... :)
 
I have someone that can buy the game for me early in the morning, but then I can't play it 'til around 6pm when the rest of the world supposedly have had it for 6-12+ hours, so that's unacceptable

gonna take off sept. 30 and buy it around 9am instead... even if I did get to play it early by not going, I want to buy the game with my own cash, hands and eyes so I can treasure the moment and remember the day I bought Half-Life 2

oh I forgot to mention, I'm even going to bring my digicam into the store, and film when on my way inside from the parking lot, then take high quality pics of the box I'm buying

who isn't? if you have the chance, by all means buy the damn game first as you wake up

if you don't, you really should be banned (I can understand when people have serious reasons, like risk being fired, etc.)
