If you're in highschool, you have no excuse to not skip school. Nothing about high school matters after you're done. Go hide in the woods or something until your parents leave for work. If you work, then call in sick. Any job that won't give you a sick day isn't worth working at anyways. If they fire you, then you just have more time to play HL2. If you're in college, skip that day; if you go to college, you're probably smart enough to find a way to justify skipping for yourself.

Me? I'm gonna call my boss in the morning and tell him I have genital warts, and I have to go to the doctor.

ie:
- My neighbour kicked my dog. and now it needs surgery
- Need to go pick up parents from airport
- Need to go check in the woods if [younger/older] sibling is hiding there to skip school
- I'm afraid to get SARS. I think I'll put myself on a 10 day quarantine

the posibilities are endless...

I just took off work from Tuesday through Saturday, saying that family was coming over and I didn't want to work while they're staying with us.

Hmmmm...so many ideas from you guys. Im in high school, and your right, no reason NOT to skip. I got this old note from my mom, one of those sick notes. So im going to tell my two teachers(I only have 2 classes excluding PE) the day before that I "am coming up with the flu" and might not be there tomorrow. I'll even say I'll bring a note the day after! Damn public school is so easy to get out of its not funny. I'll just go to my first class, then by the time thats over, EB should be just about ready to open. And I just might take pictures of myself buying the game!
Oh god I can't wait...what a glorious day it will be!

if you're not set on buying a retail copy, you could just go to sleep when you get home on the 29th wake up around 11pm prep for steam release and play for 6-7 hours or so and then go to work/school. I'll go to school that day but I won't be going to cross country practice. I'll try to bring the digi cam to the store when I get it, I'll prolly be going with friends. I'm still really torn about buying or steaming hl2.
