I'm running at 1600x1200. It doesn't really bother me... but, believe it or not, some people actually run at 1024x768... or even lower. That's like twice as wide as their screens if you tack on the forum's sidebars. Then there are the 56k'ers that will take at least 30 seconds to download that beast if they could download it at exactly 56kbps.

Also, this is the second time he has posted that image.

EDIT: It's like the 4 line signature rule and the reasoning behind not allowing images in signatures. It's not there because it would kill people to scroll down more or wait a few seconds to download an image. They are just trying to keep the forums looking clean and professional.
