...again. The release date in japan has gone from March 2010 to TBA.

TOKYO, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Sony Corp (6758.T) said it will postpone the launch of the latest version of its blockbuster racing game series "Gran Turismo", citing production-related matters, in a potential blow to its videogame operations.

"Gran Turismo 5", designed for Sony's PlayStation 3 (PS3) game console, was due to be launched in March, the final month of the current financial year. A new launch date has not been set.

Hahaha! Of course it is delayed. I would like to play it of course, but there are way too many games coming out in the first half of this year anyway, so a little extra buying power is fine by me.
 
Meh... Gran Turismo has been rehashing the same gameplay since it's creation and the only thing that ever changes is the number of cars and the shiny-ness of the cars. I'm always more excited to play it than I am after I actually start. I just don't see what they're delaying? Make the same handful of tracks you'll be racing on 40,000 times, throw in some new car models and spruce up the graphics to sell to the people crazy enough to buy it while it's still new. Maybe they're still struggling with the ridiclously outlandish idea of MULTIPLAYER... It's hard to imagine someone creating a game you could play against other people on the interwebs...
 
Its going to be the best driving sim ever, of that I'm certain.

But delayed AGAIN? Its not like theyre Valve....ahem....

All that time, money and tech, and theyre till pushing a delay. Dear god, what the heck are they adding now?

Sony Europe has said that Gran Turismo 5's latest delay is "only applicable for the Japanese market", although the platform holder also declined to estimate when the game will be released.

"This information on the GT release is only applicable for the Japanese market," the company said in a statement to Eurogamer. "SCEE will announce the launch date for this game in the PAL territories in due course."

LOL. Yeah, wasn't that the only market that had a release date anyway? It can't be delayed if there is no release date, so the other world markets should be fine. Ugh. This is a dumb discussion.
 
I always thought march was too soon for this :p

They better release by Starcraft 2, otherwise it's not gonna get any love from me!
 
At the current rate SC2 won't even be in beta by the time this is released. I hope Blizzard proves this despairing assumption to rest and the beta comes out this weekend.
All I can think about is StarCraft these days...

Driving is so stale in GT5, doubt some car damage will fix that.

I guess I'm the only one on the forums that finds GT5: P one of the most fun racing sims I've played in a long time.
 
I played prologue for a long time, but finally got tired of it, right now I'm like 3,000 in the world for the 350z demo, I need to put more laps in but I know I wont break the top 10 so I'm sort of disheartened.

I don't know, I haven't played GT prologue. I'm probably going to buy Grid when I get paid. It's pretty cheap now.

GRID isn't really comparable to GT5 Prologue and I'm too lazy to write up a reason as to why, but suffice to say, if you liked DIRT, you'll most likely like GRID as well.

DIRT was fun. I played it on Xbox. Racing games are one of the few games I prefer on consoles. I guess if I had a gamepad or a steering wheel for my PC, it would be different, but I don't and I don't race enough to get one.
 
GT5 prologue was great. Really enjoyed it. Looked great and felt great to drive with a wheel. Still looking forward to GT5, it'll be brilliant. Luckily i have great pc sims such as GTR evolution and rfactor to keep me busy, along with Forza3.

There is 100% no way you can compare GRID to GT5. One has pretty realistic driving physics, one is a complete arcade game.

Both are freaking fun as hell, though.
 
I can't believe people were suckered to buy that half-ass demo game.

I don't know, the fact I've put so many hours into it and am STILL not done...seemed worth the purchase to me.

I'm not rich thank you very much ! I am however in the middle of decorating a house from the ground up, so don't have any time to be fashioning my own little cockpit.

:p

Once that is done, maybe i'll give it a go before settling for the expensive option.
