AWESOME. I cannot wait for this. I loved Vice city, loved it to the core, and I cannot wait for this. Very excited. Yessir. :E

Vice City was the best of the three "new" generation.

Does this mean we have San Andreas stories? Can a PSP disk hold enough data for SA?

Vice City was the only one of the "new" generation GTAs that I really played, and yeah, it was pretty fun.

Yeah, but is it worth $50 to you?

Especially if there is a PS2 port for $20 again?

I'll use my GameFly subscription to pick this up and then "borrow" my friend's PSP.

The soundtrack pwned, so therefore Vice City = win.

SA was really poor i thought, Vice City was the absolute pinacle of brilliance for the GTA series (so far) and this release may be worth buying a PSP for.

GTAIII owns all other GTAs, tbh. Original music, current-day setting and long. The music is one of the main reasons I love it more than the others. It was whitty, funny and, honestly, good.

yea, vise city was the best in the seriess, i am supporting this one

Yes, SA added a whole host of shit that was not necessary and simply pooped on good ol' GTA.

I loved Vice City, especially the talk radio.

Too bad I had to 'acquire' it. (As in, ask someone going to the 'States to get me a copy)

As in, asking your friend "Bitty McTorrent" for some substance?

There is no evidence!

*burns papers and hard drive*

Couldn't agree more, GTAIII was the don. I enjoyed it far more than vice city. I may have to go play them both again now, damnit !!

xD

Does no one have a problem paying $50 for a handheld game??? Especially one that will likely be ported to the PS2 for $20???

No, because it will take a few months to do. If HL3 came out for another system first for 50 bucks, but would be on the PC in a few months for a much cheaper price, would you do it?

Anyway, wow, a lot of love for Vice City in this thread. I may need to borrow this game from a friend and actually beat it...

I don't think VCS will be as great as VC was when it came. Here's why.

VC introduced helicopters and motorbikes but it's not going to be anything new in VCS. They have already taken much of the greatest music from the 80s with VC, so they will probably not be close to the great soundtrack VC had.

It's not a new city to explore. Sure, it'll like LCS vs. GTA3. Some minor changes, some new things written here and there and some buildings removed and some new, and the easteregg replaced with something new. But nothing major.

It'll be PSP exclusive(maybe a direct port later to PS2). PSP isn't capable of doing what the PS2, Xbox and PC are capable of. Such things as cutscenes will suffer because of this. LCS is proof of this. Many cutscenes are purely 2 or more characters waving their hands at each other with some sound files. That's purely shit compared to VC's cutscenes.

They will probably add some more things such as they did in LCS, but nothing you will have fun with for too long. So basically the only hope VCS has is the story. LCS was pretty crappy on this point, so I don't expect more from VCS. Oh, and it's Rockstar Leeds who makes this game, not Rockstar North who made Vice City.

Sure, it'll probably be a smash hit for the PSP, and for a good reason, but don't expect the same feeling you got from vice city. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong, I love the GTA-series, and I would love a worthy comeback for Vice City.

Excuse my crappy english. =D

I loved LCS, even more so than San Andreas. Considering we are returning to my favourite city, I'm sure I'll love this just as much as I did LCS - probably more so.

Yeah, but it doesn't take away from the fact that its $50 for a handheld game! This will continue to occur as long as consumers blindly accept it...oh well. There's no turning back I guess...;(

I liked Vice City a lot better than San Andreas actually. I think they should have kept Tommy in the game instead of replacing him with CJ, I hope that in this one Tommy will come back. Also if they are going to make it so when you drive through the dirt or sand your car gets dirty, at least do it right. Now almost as soon as you hit the dirt your car is filthy.. so unrealistic. But so far out of all of the GTAs my favorite would have to be GTA 3. That game was just perfect in my mind. I would still be playing it if my disk did not break.

There's plenty of better music from the 80s than what was in Vice City. Lots better.

Meh, I never listened to the rock station much anyway. I always listened to the new wave and pop station. In San Andreas, I found myself listening to the country station all the time.

True. But I have to say that Rockstar had a hard job of trying to surpass one of the greatest games on the PS2...

Anytime I ever got into any car in any of the GTAs I always turned the radio off in the car.

They did surpass it . The only reason no one likes San Andreas is because of the gangsta main character and some the plot lines dealing with the "hood." San Andreas easily has the best gameplay, voice overs, overall story, graphics (not saying much here though), and variety of music stations. The only thing SA did wrong was the horrible talk radio station. Only a few were ever funny. Vice City and GTA3 completely beat SA with talk radio stations.

^ Yup.

Apart from the odd radio stations SA is indeed the best in the series :)

The whole gangsta story didn't bother me at all, hell, it made the storyline the most interesting out of all of them.

But it did lack something. I can't quite put my finger on it though...

Maurice Chavez and Lazlow in VC ftw!

Disagreed. I thought SA had the weakest storyline, and the weakest gameplay....I mean, eating, gym....it was just a whole bunch of turd. :|
