graphic anomaly questions (no 56k!)

Hey guys. this game is really awesome, but one thing has been bugging me alot lately. First of all, my system specs are

p4 2.4 gz
1.25 gig of ram
geforce 6800 gt with forceware 61.77

Anyways I get wierd poles spiking out of models. here are some screenshots. The video card, is brand new and not overclocked. I dont know how to explain it really, so just look at some screenshots:

Also there was some instances where the spike would be out of a gun model in first person, but I failed to capture those images.

Artifacts, somethings wrong with your video card.

Try takeing off your heatsink and applying more thermal paste, the manufacturing company might not have put enough.

do u guys know how to turn off fastwrite?

if u have an ati card do this

right click desktop>properties>settings tab>advanced>smartgart tab>fast writes off radio button.
