Kay my friend said that the radeon X300 is like the exact same as the Nvida Geforce 5200....and that the radeon X800 is almost the same as the X300.....I dunno much about graphic cards but i take it he's a moron? lol

LOL i dont like any of the x300s, x600s and x700s, i just like the x800s because well they are better and even though i like them that doesnt mean i cant buy a 6800 which i like better because well IMO they are better cards. And remember nvidia do have the advantage now that they have SLI

x800s and 6800s are so powerful, that you don't even need to compare them, it's useless

actually you do. for opengl games, 6800s are superior currently. that being the main difference, also nvidia's sm 3.0 and openexr HDR support could be a factor in a buying decision.
