I've just installed a Hercules 9800 pro in place of a Ti4200. I used Driver Cleaner to remove the Nvidia drivers and the 9800 is running perfectly (new drivers installed, appears in Device Manager etc.)

The one problem is that with the Ti4200, the graphics card information would appear on the screen just before the computer booted up, but this doesn't happen with the 9800. Does that mean I've done something wrong, or is it not important?

no i dont think its anythign wronge, i had a gf2mx400 an nvidia card it did the same. i upgraded to AIW 9000pro and the screen is gone, just goes to boot, no i think your fine.

Radeon decided they didn't need to be flashy to get people to love them.

:dozey: I think because you set your computer to "quick boot" which skips all that BIOS stuff.

Nothing to worry about, just like everyone else has said. The BIOS on the Radeon cards is not designed to show that quick screen for the video card.

On a side note, even if it did, I wouldn't be able to see it, cause the first thing I see when i turn on my pc is windows loading (my monitor takes a while to warm up)
