I was wondering what is a good graphics card for $150 and less? The games that I will mainly use it for is Half-Life 2 and CSS, stuff like that. TY.

What are your system specs? Are you looking for an AGP or PCI-E card?

A 6800gs from newegg is about 150 and it should serve you well. If not a 6600gt would be more then enough for just HL2 and CSS.

Even an older 9800pro would work if you could get one for cheap.

thats basically falls between the 6600 and the 6600gt with gddr3 memory

sry for double posting, but i just bought that graphics card and I think I did something retarded. I have a Dell E310 and idk if it has a PCI express 16x thing on it. I have the card and tryed to install into my comp. PLZ HELP!!!

Man i dont even think the E310 has an agp or a pci-e slot. You better open up your comp and make sure though first.

you have to do your homework on computer shopping before you buy

I sent it back. I think my comp has a AGP slot. Can you tell me how i know i have it? lol. Is it like white that has a little slot and next to it has a bigger spot lol? idk wtf!

An AGP slot is longer then the other slots and is brown in colour. You will only have one of them and it should be located above any other slots on the motherboard.

You should have multiple PCI slots which are shorter and White in colour.

Check the picture below. It shows an AGP and 3 PCI slots.

Nope you dont even have an agp slot. You have 2 pci slots and one Pci Express X1 slot. You are gunna have to get a pci graphics card, and I think they best they come is like a 5500.

Here is your comp: http://www1.us.dell.com/content/pro...&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn&~tab=specstab#tabtop

Click on the "open view" picture on that site, and you can see that you do not have the agp slot that DrDevin showed you.

As Krynn said you do not have any sort of dedicated graphics slot which leaves you with a very small range of compatable graphics cards (which are very slow for poor prices). Your best bet is to replace the motherboard if possible, however many dell PCs use parts that cannot be changed. The other option is to return or get a new PC and remember Dells are not good for gaming!

If you want a basic PCI videocard this is probably your best bet:

Double posting is bad BUT WHAT DO U THINK OF the Card I POSted above?!

lol wtf he gets one pci-e 1x slot but no x16 slot that sux

Not bad, don't know about the price (I'm gussing it is in US dollars?) so I won't comment on it. You will need a spare plug coming from your PSU to plug into that card. I hope you have one!

well can you at least tell me if i should get the card i posted? the one at best buy for 150$? lol wat is this PSU u speack of?

Power Supply Unit

Seriously, it sounds like you might want to leave the messing around inside a PC untill you have a bit more knowlegde of PC's / years of age. Just a suggestion.

Well, teach me =D people have to start somewhere...im just tired right now and ive heard of all these things but im not fluent in them
