Grav Gun levitation?

Well with the havoc engine we will be able to give cars weight how fast they fall and everything its a great thing how much thought they have put into the new engine, should be interesting to see what the modding comunity do to the grav gun. i reacon there will be a cheat to enable the gav gun out of the tech demos too

There is a problem with levitating that shows up in the video you mentioned. He used "shove" function to push the buggy away from him, but the same amount of force isn't exerted on Gordon. Action and reaction, etc. If He fired it at the ground, it would be reasonable to assume that the ground would experience a force (though without enough energy to move the earth) but our hero would remain motionless. If levitation would work, then pushing a heavy buggy would have sent him flying over the edge of the barrier. Make sense to any one but me?

So basically, if Valve incorporates TRUE physics, and there is a 'push' function on the gun, then you can LEVITATE!

Btw, anyone play Painkiller? You could use the painkiller to lift yourself up. Just use the 'pull towards you' it hits you, you jump a little, let go, repeat.

but if valve incorporated these "true" physics, then the manipulator would be limited to only being able to lift, throw or shove as much as the person holding it... which would make it virtually useless. But it WOULD make a hell of a hood ornament.

I like the maps in OP4 deathmatch where there's the barnacle grapples and all the organic stuff...
