Anyone seen this anime movie. Its really really sad I was on the verge of crying nearly half way through and out. Its about WW2 Japan and a kid who mother passes and he has tot ake care of his family whcih consist of him and his litter sister the movie is soo sad . It really make syou appreciate the people around you well for me it did. Anyoe else seen this care to comment?

Haven't seen it, but want to. It's a Miyazaki flick which pretty much assures its quality, but I wont watch it unless I can see it subtitled, rather than dubbed. It always ruins it for me to watch things dubbed.

Hey Laivasse i dont think its a Miyazaki picture the animation in my opinion wasnt that great but it still was a kick movie. Just if you get it make sure its an ogm file and you shouldnt have a problem getting jap voice with english subtitle.

Yea I have it on DVD, awsome movie, really sad. Did you know that it's based on a true story (and the actual true story was way more brutal)? . It's not a Miyazaki film although it's from the same studio (if I remember correctly).

edit: The director is Isao Takahata and studio is Studio Ghibli

This animation had a bigger impact on me than any of the drama-queen movies from hollywood. Greay story, and a very sad one...

This is such a great, tragic movie that after watching once I've no real inclination to watch it again. Entertainment is a supplement to your mood, and I can never seem to find the right mood to justify seeing blanket death and sadness.

Sorry for the Quasi-bump, but it's a film that deserves praise by the bucket-load. Even if it's rendered un-re-watchable for those of us who don't like being routinely depressed.
